It feels like a pretty big break … next Sunday vs the Tigers at home! Will they manage to find some form again after a few dismal performances, and can we get back to our best before a tough run of games hits us?

Please discuss! And I’m not mentioning the dreaded Danger Game words … oh, dammit!!!

The game against the Phins is right before Origin so all those guys for both teams will be out. I think the Phins have about six. But, even with six out they still flogged an under strength Roosters side.

Hopefully they can get a good week of training in and work on their defence, wrapping up the ball and reusing kicks in particular. They’re still bad a protecting the catchers. Best needs to help Greg out more, get into position early.

Will need a big improvement on last few weeks if we’re going to beat the Fins, so a good performance against the Tigers will help.

Tell you what I can’t wait to get a hooker that consistently offers threats from hooker, Crossland is never a threat there and Graham seems to have shut up shop in the Dragons game and offered nothing, I’m hoping Graham gets back to his running but if not, I can’t wait for Hagan.

Seeing these teams with Cook, Robson, B.Brailey and Api makes me jealous

Whilst i agree, it would be a balancing act required with the current team to ensure he wasnt taking the ball away from Brown Ponga Smith. Scooting out on a forward run quick play the ball and someone smart enough to feed the above would be amazing.

When everyone is fit we're the best attacking side in the comp, we don't need a threat at hooker. Crossland making 50 tackles and staying out of the way is perfect.
You know what I disagree. Someone that can attack from hooker allows a quicker PTB speed which then allows these dylbro, pong ,Sharpe and the edges to attack at speed with freedom. If korosau was our hooker I'd bet my left one we would have another 10-15 tries easily.

Even stealing 10-15 metres from a scoot still allows you to be closer to the try line for attacking plays. Watched Graham when he scoots, steals metres, either a quick PTB or leads to a shift and a try scoring play. All in all that helps your pigs not gas as much.

I think Graham is a bit more crafty. The combination of interchange with Crossland works well. Crossland is such a good defender.

Be awsome to see Diesel Hagan get a run this year. Have not seemed him play but sounds like a gun.

There must be too many on here that go to the games. I love crossland, he is a tackle machine and a but a spiritual leader of the team. But he regularly makes horrible decision from dummy half. You can't see it on TV because the angle isn't wide enough, but It's actually uncanny how often he goes the wrong way in the absolute clearest of situations. The game against the wahs we had a 7 on 3 overlap on the OPEN side after making a break and he still went down the short side. He regularly choses the worst times to ignore kayln sweeping around the back (i.e when something is clearly on). If you look, he regularly only glances left and right at our players and doesn't even look up at the opposition.
I think we are all waiting for diesel to mature, even those if you who don't realize it yet. It will be obvious when we get a decent threatening hooker, how much it will help our attack.

When KP’s out it’s nice to have a threat out of dummy half but at full strength, I think we mostly just want someone getting him, Brown and Sharpe the ball quickly.

I never want to see Crossland even attempt to think or try be creative at 9, nothing good ever comes from that. I find it quite perplexing actually how little creativity or nous Crossland has considering he was a former half. As @jarhead said he is objectively bad at it and makes poor decisions.
The only different thing I’m happy for Phoenix to do is a long kick out of dummy half which he is generally quite good at

Graham on the other hand or Smith with using their speed at 9 could be handy. The Fins have 4 attacking threats in their spine (I think their attack is the best in the comp) the Storm also have 4, so maybe it is something we need to have a bit of but just not Crossland. Although we’d need our forward pack to create more of a roll on in order for that to be effective
