NRL Round 11 - Knights Vs Titans - 2:00pm Sunday, 17th of May - Suncorp Stadium - MAGIC ROUND!!!

Sharpe is a head scratcher.
We have got used to seeing Sharpe do Sharpe things, but those two tries by Sharpe had the commentators frothing at the mouth and they were the sort of tries we'd see Papenhausen score a few years ago and we'd all be thinking the guy's a RL genius.

But it's just Sharpe sliding past 3 or 4 defenders like they were stuck in treacle - nothing special.

I reckon I've seen Sharpe score 100 tries, and those 2 yesterday wouldn't even make the highlight reel, but i'd be very impressed if anyone else scored them.

The ‘experts’ (a term I use very loosely) spent the whole off season saying how terrible our forwards, especially our middles are. They couldn’t possibly give them any Dally M points.
Found it laughable people thought our forward were terrible, from “experts”. It’s like when our forwards were meant to get dominated by the Cows, Manly, Canberra, Titans etc…

At some point you’d think they would take a step back leave their ego behind and go “maybe they aren’t the worst forward pack”

Not to defend the so-called experts, but Croker going from a so-so bench prop to a net positive starting lock forward + a newly signed prop with 8 first grade starts building into a genuinely good first grade starter were not exactly obvious things to predict.

The experts are just paid to have an opinion and they must have one, otherwise why are they there.

More important than talent is attitude. A player with all the skills but crap attitude will be worse than a player with less skills but a great attitude.

I wouldn't worry what the talking heads say.

Yeah thays 100% true. For a change, what we were hoping to happen has happened. Its just very few thought it would be Croker.

We all hoped it would be McEwen stepping up. I wasn't convinced. I have been proved wrong.

Its nice to hear that the NSW cup forwards are also progressing well.

Yeah, but you can't play these what if games.

If we playing a top 8 team likely that would affect everything about the week, players that bit more switched on and setting themselves for the challenge etc. It would have an affect and could change how we came out and played that first half.
Agree.
Nobody gave the Knights much chance against a very good Rabbitohs a few weeks ago, and look how that turned out!
There are no easy games in the NRL and you take the points and be happy with that.

We've also been pretty lucky with injuries to our forward pack so far, just a handful of matches missed for our first stringers. So fortunately our depth hasn't really been tested as of yet.

Agreed. We’ve had a few guys who’ve definitely exceeded expectations but guys like J Saf and Friz are still excellent players. I think we all had worries about our pack but it was nowhere near as grim as what was made out.

The new rule changes certainly suit our pack as well.

Dally M votes: Fletcher Sharpe 4, Dom Young 3, Dylan Lucas 3, Kalyn Ponga 1, Greg Marzhew 1.
I must have watched a different game.
I had Croker or Brown as best on field. Sharpe was in and out of the game but scored a couple of tries and is the flavour of the month so you can see why he is on the list. Lucas, and the wingers deserve praise, but Crossland always gets forgotten. Assume he topped the tackle count for the game again.

To be fair I think @Billy has always said that this was how Crokes should be used. That he was much better playing long minutes and using his ball playing skills as opposed to the short minute bench prop AOB had him playing as
