NRL Round 3 - Knights Vs Warriors - 3:00pm Saturday, 21st March - McDonald Jones Stadium

Is it for certain Sharpe is out? I remember Holbrook saying he’s running. But see how he gets through training. So perhaps a set back in a training session.

No doubt we are going to have a string of losses with our main players out, hoping we don't get flogged though.
If we can weather the storm and maybe pick up a few wins until their return we can set ourselves up for a decent run at the back end.
Just a shame though we only got a small taste of what our proper spine can do before our curse struck as always

No one has definitively said he's out yet but sounds very doubtful. Didn't get through training on Wednesday and all of the wording has been that Holbrook doesn't want to risk him. Toohey said he doesn't think he'll play. Team list will update at 3pm today so should know more then.

Holbrooks comments from today:

"Not confident with Sharpey," Holbrook said on Friday morning before training. "He didn't really get through the session too well the other day.

"We'll have a look at him today ... Obviously we would have loved him to be right for tomorrow, it's just going to be a time thing and it's hard to predict ... but as I mentioned, unlikely that he'll play for us tomorrow.

"If he runs really well today, I obviously want him to play, but if he's not right, we're not going to risk him."

Just listened to Hollbrooks presser, Sharpe is doubtful, Gamble ready to come in.

Last year most of us and the coach’s preference was Gamble. I heard he had a good game in cup. He’s an experienced first grader. He’s got a great attitude.

Considering the situation it’s not as dire as last year. Hunt seems much better this year. Last week was great. And he had good moments last year.

If Sharpe is out it will definately be a blow. As others have said it's round three, better to not risk him so early in the season.
I watched the NSW cup game last week. Gamble did look good. Had a hand in a few tries, kicked well except for one out on the full. He will slot in nicely at 6.

The team is playing with lots of confidence. A win is still possible especially at home.

Its crazy that we have lost three spine members already and we still have two NRL quality halves playing this weekend. Our depth is fantastic in the spine.

It’s mental that with 3 of our best spine players out I still see a chance of winning just due to the fact that the team seems to have the ability to be the ball to the attacking threats this year. Best, gags, Young are all able to get quality ball to them and attack effectively and how good they are it usually results into points.

I’m not disillusioned though, we’re playing a very very good team in the WAHS who are playing very powerfully. If it was over there I’d give us no chance. Just at home, with some good control of possession and momentum, the teams still had it in them. Be an incredible win if they can. In Holbrook and co we trust.

Warriors here. We know what it is like to have players out. At the moment we are missing CNK, Rocco Berry, CHT, Capewell, but it looks like Niukore and Barnett may be OK for tomorrow. I doubt there will be overconfidence on our end. We remember too well last year when a sick Knights team almost rolled us except for a Halasima special. Whichever way guys, all the best.

CNK, Berry, CHT, and Capewell are all solid players, but Ponga, Sharpe, and Brown are on a different level. Our best 3 players easily.

If we can hold our own in the forwards, we are a shot. Home ground counts in our favour. But, I've tipped the Wahs. With our outs and their current form, I can't see us winning this game. I just hope it's a good, tight contest, and we don't get rolled by the Warriors pack.

I can't split the teams to be honest without Sharpe, throw in our first home game of the year, with 2 stellar performances Boyd is due for a howler.

Sharpe confirmed out, Gamble in at five-eighth
Hopwood moves up onto the bench for now though wouldn't be surprised if it's Schiller in the final team

Pompey is out for the Warriors, Halasima moves to centre with Niukore coming into the starting side and Barnett on the bench

Sharpe was our last hope of victory imo. Sad to say just can’t see us having enough points to win. I get they’ve got more outs but ours are more important.

I’m sure they’ll have a fair crack but I can see a 24-6 type score occurring with our lone try coming in the 79th minute of course.
