2026 Season

If I’m the Roosters, I’m a little annoyed that they’ve jagged a 6 day turnaround.

I’m not complaining - Knights with 9 Days.

But just seems a bit silly.
I guess it’s the Broadcast deals and NZ time zone.


Friday/Saturday - should play Saturday

Saturday/Sunday - should play Sunday

Hopefully we can use the rest to our advantage - a Cleary-less Penrith would be juicy.
 
The Leaguie good here after Wayne's epic bunker meltdown and call for it to be scrapped.

Sharks v Cows last night: 5 first half try involvements...3 of them were ruled incorrectly and had to be overruled by the bunker. The AFB double movement particularly obvious and missed by the ref.


The bunker is not perfect... and can always be improved, but the world without it is worse.... where huge games will be decided by guesswork by unsighted officials reacting in the blink of an eye instead of player effort.
 
One thing that left a bit of sour taste during that Panthers game yesterday.

We cut live to the studio for the first comments on the tackle from - Greg Alexander Panthers Leagues Board Member who all but dismissed the contact, highlighted instances of players getting a fine, no suspension - puts out the idea that it was no worse than those.

Know it happens, and people will form their own opinions on it - and everyone will be running interference depending upon their agenda. Just struck me as more noticeable as the commentators didn’t have a lot of time to talk about it, so it was the first real analysis of it - by a Panthers Official.

I can see a world where he cops a week for that - there’s intent, Significant force and I think it’s dangerous. Savala spins around there’s so much force. Only saving grace is that there was no injury, Savala got straight up. Shouldn’t come into it - but I think it does.
I’ve often thought these look ‘soft’ - but I actually thought this one looked like it could have been dangerous. We will see if judiciary agree.

Would a suspension impact his Dally M? I imagine it’s just regular season games.

That’s right I remember thinking that was a tough suspension at the time. I really think there is a bias when it’s a big guy doing something to a little guy. Saifitis suspension similar where he belted a smaller player.
Smaller players seem to get a way with a lot more. I guess this is where they make the judgement of “forceful contact”.

NZ Dolphins game was at capacity or close.
The record attendance for a rugby league game at Eden Park is 45k.
That record could be beaten this weekend.
