Men’s State of Origin Game 2 2026 - The Blues Vs The Maroons - 8:05pm Wednesday 17th June - MCG

Also, if was a Tigers fan, I'd be beside myself RN. They're a team that is desperate to play finals after a decade. They started the season well but fell in a hole with Api's suspension and injuries...now they're trying to get back on track but they lose Api to Origin only for Loz not to play the bloke when clearly NSW desperately need him on the park.

Love dyl, but I think he had a bad night unfortunately. He’ll cop far more criticism than warranted but he did have a couple of bad missed tackles.
Not sure what Laurie does with this lot for game 3, I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s minimal changes to be honest. I don’t think Daley’s got any answers.

We get one back, and Loz still doesn't go to his bench....at this point I think he's just trolling.
Every time they cross to Daley in the box he looks like he is traumatised and frozen for directions for the team. I can see why they put Bellamy in there with him last season.
Unfortunately Laurie has been found out as a coach who has no real coaching experience and therefore unable to use muscle memory in the box.
It is overtime to replace him with someone who knows the ropes and who know what they are doing.
But definitely not Ennis please.

It literally doesn’t matter who gets picked. Madge won a series starting Jurbo at prop. What matters is if the coach knows why he’s picking someone. If he has a plan for them. Laurie doesn’t.

You could give him Joey, Bedsy, Fittler and his own damn self - what a player. Throw in Brett Kenny, ET, Lazo, Chief, BK. Stack the deck in his favour as much as possible. He’d find a way to lose.

Queensland win a tame decider 36-20 after leading 24-0 at half time.

Lucky Klein sent Ponga in the first game or this would’ve been one of the most one sided series in recent memory.

NSW can’t compete with QLD’s speed and creativity. Game 3 will be uglier than Tonie Carroll unless some huge changes are made.

The whole attacking structure of Daley and how he has set NSW up is ordinary
He has made same mistake as other coaches and got the team to play like Penrith, they need to be more like a Knights/Dolphins/Qld and just play footy
Up 12-2 through bit of luck but they were playing footy, then shut up shop and could never re gain momentum
Cleary is still just worthy of being there but if any other injuries instead of strange Into halves gotta be Katoa from dolphins

The way the played is why Lucas couldn’t get into the game and he already getting g hounded by people saying he was useless, but he made like 40 tackles with 1 miss and that was after Staggs already missed hammer and he tried to get him for the qld first half try

Let him be on the left and if not put him to bench and impact him against tired forwards

To’o has been great servant but finally qld have just picked players to jump over him and we have given up too much easy ball 5-10m out

But nothing will change till we lose next game and we get a new coach for next year

Cleary will be out for revenge, it’s his time, the stage is set for him to dominate game 3 and go down as one of the origin greats - the media. Probably.

Absolute brilliant player for Penrith. His kicking game for Penrith is elite too. But besides a few good moments against 12, hasn’t done much. It’s frustrating to watch. Even his usually reliable kicking game, does have the same effect at this level. It’s tricky though, I think he’s the best 7 in club land. So do you pick the best? Or do you give somebody else a go?

Moses long kicking was probably the only thing saving both for game 3 too. Was a good pressure relieving outlet.

Unfortunately, I think Lucas drops out. He looked busy. Seemed determined to get involved early. Lots of tackles. Was always making his runs. Maybe the fatigue got to him a little, he was a bit off the pace in a few breaks down the right, and a few defensive moments. I feel bad for him. I don’t think he’s the issue, but I don’t think the game we play suits his strengths or really involves him. We don’t really shift it to our edges - prefer to give it to our middles to run through the middle. Hopefully he comes back to us intent on proving that he’s a much better player than he was allowed to be.

We look intent on trying to ground out a 8-6 victory. QLD just have the sole intention of scoring points.
Their players just lift to a new level and look like they thrive being in an environment with other great players.
We just always look so disjointed.

I struggle to see what the point was in bringing AFB on for 10 minutes, replacing him with Strange. He didn’t really come on and bend the line, just took some carries.

To’o has dropped significantly. Such an easy target to isolate with a taller winger and kick to them.

Walker, Munster, Ponga and Grant all play their origin role superbly. Munster summed up a few of their attacks perfectly with his kicking game.

Feel like Sharpe would offer more at fullback than Tedesco sometimes.

Even Gould is calling out NSW's poor selections to support a seemingly non-existent game plan.

"...stop listening to advice, stop listening to people in the media, stop listening to experts on panels, stop reading papers, and sit down and analyse the game, get a game plan together and pick a team that can execute the game plan. "

We were a KP send-off from facing a sweep at Suncorp. With the series still technically alive, I really do think NSW's only hope is that they bring in Ricky for one game as an "assistant" to Loz because of their Canberra connection. Ricky then comes up with the game plan and picks and coaches the team while Loz stumbles through the press engagements as usual.

How many Origins and series have we lost purely due to Loz's poor coaching?

I think Loz is gone. Even if they win it at Suncorp by some miracle, it's clear he doesn't know what he's doing. Why he reapplied and why the NSWRL gave it to him is a mystery for the ages.

Now is the time for a break-glass option to try to save the series.

He made 44 tackles and only missed 1 according to the game stats.

It's not his fault Daley the flog didn't use his strengths, why keep using him as a decoy
