NRL Round 5 - Knights Vs Raiders - 4:05pm Sunday, 5th April - McDonald Jones Stadium

I’ve rabbitted on a bunch of times about how J Saf’s minutes have been cut this season to allow him to play a higher impact role, but Justin identified this week as the one where he’d ask for a big big shift from him.

There’s no mystery to how the Raiders win, their super dominant starters set the game up with bruising physicality than they run over the top of you. Jacob was given a mission to stop that happening, the Raiders starters are all off before the 30 minute mark. We finished over the top of them. Our bench killed theirs, Friz thoroughly outplayed them, but Jacob not letting them run over us in that first period set the game up.

I think it’s his best game in first grade. He was phenomenal.

The duality of Hunt. Believe he's leading the comp for errors while playing less games than the players around him on that list (had another 5 today) and he isn't much of a running/passing threat yet in the traditional fullback sense. He also has the type of natural ability and athleticism that can't be taught, and we see glimpses of it every week. That's why AOB believed in him even while his performances probably weren't warranting it, and it's why he was in Holbrook's team from the jump. Still don't know where he ends up long term but I don't think any team has a better 3rd string fullback lying around.

His been incredible for 5 weeks now, today his best impact was his D . first man up out of the line and hitting hard. So dominant.

Is it just me or does Lucas look way off this year? I know he was out injured last year but he doesnt look like the player we all know he is.
Yeah ive been thinking the same. Been good in yardage carries, but he has missed a few tackles he wouldn't normally miss and his hole running has been non existent. Hopefully we resign him soon and then he plays out of his skin again...

That try assist by Hunt for Dom's last try was not something you see from the youngest guy in the side.
He positioned all the defenders, waited for the perfect time and delivered the perfect pass - you can see him planning it in real time.
What a future he has - just don't know what position.
Is he still on a development deal?
But Hunt can’t pass.

Great win today, Knights fam! 🔵🔴
That result over the Canberra Raiders was huge and shows exactly what this group is capable of when we turn up and back each other. Tough, disciplined, and relentless footy right across the park.
Even better that win pushes us into 2nd place on the ladder. A great reward for the hard work, but we know there’s plenty more to come.
Let’s enjoy this one, stay hungry, and keep building. Up the Knights! 💪

What a great team effort from the boys. Gags and Frizz were my top picks today. The more I watch Sandon Smith, the more I’m convinced he’s our best half back we have in our roster. I really want to see what him and Dylan Brown can do in the halves together.
His defence is rubbish
