NRL Round 5 - Knights Vs Raiders - 4:05pm Sunday, 5th April - McDonald Jones Stadium

Lefty

Danny 'Bedsy' Buderus
After an excellent win over the Bulldogs, we now have 3 wins from 4 games. We have an eight day turnaround before we face the Raiders at home.

For the third week in a row we will have to wait and see whether Sharpe will be fit to play.

Thankfully Mooney will return from suspension.

This will be another tough game and we will have to play well again to win.

Whichever route they go for who starts, hopefully Mooney and Saulo are both up for a big one against their old team.

Crossland went to lock today for the first time this season, an unforced change to get Graham in at hooker. Will be interesting to see if that's something they continue to utilise or was just seen as viable against a smaller Bulldogs pack.

It’s good to have these props pushing each other for a first grade spot.

It’s good to have that depth and those under pushing the top guys.

At home, Raiders not hitting 2025’s heights, this looks very winnable.
I feel like we witnessed a corner being turned today. On many fronts. Squad depth….resilience…..resolve……responsiveness (lots of other cool words beginning with R….). Just felt different. Like it wasn’t just a game we was watching, it was a system and culture reset becoming apparent.

We don't know what will happen with Crossland.
Best case, he wakes up this morning and the swelling around his nose is already reducing and you'll hardly know it happened by next week.
Worst case, he wakes up this morning with two massive black eyes and the swelling is so bad he can hardly see, and he'll have to miss next game.
Sharpe could go either way too. Might be fine - might not be.
