So the big question is how many minutes Sandon has in him at 9.

I think for this to work even a bit we need more Phoenix at 13 than at 9.

I reckon this has been factored into the decision over the spine, Friz will get subbed off for Sandon in the first half with Phoenix moving to 13. Effectively the solution to a lot of the bench management questions re: the middles will, I think, Crossland playing huge minutes so we don’t have to ask for so much from the bench. But yeah as I said above that relies on Sandon being ready to play more than half the game at 9.
 
Not too fussed about the team selections at this stage, off the back of a spoon year, major personnel & coaching changes and a road trip to Vegas. It's going to take time. Hopefully not too much time (no one wants another spoon).

I just really hope they don't turn over a mountain of possession and fail to give themselves a chance.
 
Just watched Hollbrooks interview. He has stated for round 1 the best fit to get Sharpe in the side was to play him at 6. He also said Sandon will play in the halves at some point.

Which tells me as soon as an injury goes down in the backline Sharpe will slot in there and Sandon to 6. He wants Sharpe in the side and starting. That’s what I’m reading.

If we get through even one game this season without Dylan Brown engaging the line and passing to Kalyn Ponga looping around his outside shoulder at least a handful of times, immediately following the game Holbrook and honestly Kalyn & Dylan should be put in the stocks and pelted with fruit.

The #1 reason to be excited about Dylan being at the club is the possibility of what they could be in combination with one another.
 
So this game is going to look a lot like the 2nd trial. Nobody knows what they are doing and it'll show in game 1. Dylbro isn't a right sided player. If they run out with dyl playing right we are in all sorts. If Fletch goes right it may be ok but he will have to be the "7". The bench looks atrocious. Should've been chasing another "middle" or given someone like ESL a go to be our crazy runner.
 
You are all forgetting Ponga down in the first 20mins and Sharpe to fullback, Smith to 7 for the next 6 weeks.

Think the Coach has a idea but keeping it hidden
Sharpe at 6 playing 7, Brown at 7 playing 6

Im starting to think that Holbrook is taking a very long term view to the roster and its key players.

Start Brown in the most advanced role a half can play, baptism of fire, once he goes back to his left sided 6 role, he'll have more feathers in his bow, be a complete player. Maybe that's the plan?

Why tf else would anyone drag Brown across the field and make him organise a team lol when you've already got a guy who does it better on that side?
 
I’ve seen worse benches. Reckon Saulo will have a bigger year and Francis will definately get stuck in. Croker is Croker on any given day.
