Assuming some of you probably want to start a sack Justin Holbrook thread, I'm looking at you les
Ngl that AOB saga twisted me up something thorough, but for specific reasons which died with AOB. I'm not normally one to take such dramatic issue with coaches - believe it or not.

I'm grateful it's not Green. And I'm genuinely excited about next year. The inclusions of Smith and Holbrook revolutionise how I feel about our prospects next year and resolve most of the concerns I had about Brown.

I'm unsure what to whinge about if I'm honest. Unusual feeling.

Just do what I do mate, whinge about having nothing to whinge about 😂

Coach is settled. I really don't have any feelings one way or the other about it.

I'm not going to play analyst and armchair coach.

Holbrook is in charge and see what he does.

First thing I am interested in, is seeing who he plans to play in the spine.

I expect to be hearing the this isn't a rebuild speech shortly.

Don't agree or disagree, he just always seemed happy to do stuff like play both a hooker and utility. The Frizell conjecture is that he'll start Friz on the edge and move him to the middle with McEwen coming on and playing out the game, for example. This is me just guessing based on how he seemed to prefer to set up rather than saying it's what I'd do.
Oh I read it as that’s what you would do, my bad

Im not disagreeing, your guessing could be much better then mine, i just thought I’d add my suggestion

I guess it’ll depend on how the guys train and develop in the preseason

With Frizell though, I think given his age it might be too much to expect him to play edge then transition into the middle during the game. He’ll either be just edge or just middle IMO

Did you mean the SMH? That’s where I saw a feature on him.

But yeah the main thing you can glean is he was asked the Dylan Brown halfback question, and he responded by saying he’s going to get around the boys, meet them, and nut out positions “pretty early on”. And yeah he namedrops Sandon and Sharpe as key players to fit in to the puzzle. No commitment about where he plans to play anyone.

Also pretty definitively did not say he was going to pick players where the recruitment manager thinks he should.

This youtuber is really good insight into our new coach, seems so much better than AOB, tons of macro and micro coaching experience
Thanks for sharing. Was a good listen. When he was talking about starting with Saint Helens, I felt like you could draw parallels to Newcastle and where we are at the moment. Reinforces my belief he’s the best guy for the job here.

Attacking coach Mick Crawley from the raiders has told them he wants out… Hopefully newcastle make a play for him!

plus he’s an ex newy NYC under 20s coach

Has Green officially left yet?

I can't imagine he remains after applying for head coach and not getting the job, to continue to work under the person that did!
