Just looking at the stats for Jake Arthur and Matt Hunter and Jake Arthur is miles ahead on every stat.
He's bigger, better defender, 25 try assists in 17 games this year compared to 5 try assists in 9 games.
I've never seen Hunter play, but I can't see, from his stats, why we have signed him and not locked up Arthur instead.

pos must see a higher ceiling longterm, and initially i assume his on a development deal.Just looking at the stats for Jake Arthur and Matt Hunter and Jake Arthur is miles ahead on every stat.

Here he is, back from the wilderness. Welcome back mate, I’m glad you didn’t wait until the Knights came good before posting again.Just reading the posts from the Parra supporters about Matthew Hunter before we signed him and they think he is a great 1/2 , 5/8 coming through . They said there reserve grade wasn't doing well about mid ladder until he came in and they went ahead in leaps and bounds. I think he will be 21 when he gets here so maybe they just bought the 1/2 back we will need and Brown stays at 6 but if Ponga stays what do we do with Sharpe.
18 month self exile over!!!Here he is, back from the wilderness. Welcome back mate, I’m glad you didn’t wait until the Knights came good before posting again.
Don’t think POS gets too caught up in whether they’re sixes or sevens. He’s a half.Hunter isn’t a halfback, only played 6
I think he’s just being brought in as depth
Remember we did sign Lykhan King-togia but he ended up backflipping in the cooling period
All this stockpiling of 5/8s makes me think Brown will wear the 7 and we are keeping our options open for who will play 6.Don’t think POS gets too caught up in whether they’re sixes or sevens. He’s a half.
Nothing like a bit of stability!Halves we have used in reserve grade this year.
Will Pryce
Liam Sutton
Jackson Hastings
Tyson Gamble
Jack Cogger
Taj Annan
Fletcher Hunt
Jake Arthur
Haami Loza
Mitch Henderson
I read on the site that he plays half as well as 5/8 so maybe they will play him as a half and he would probably know Browns game as well ...Hunter isn’t a halfback, only played 6

Thanks mate had some trouble with the big C but kicking its butt now . Been a Knights supporter since Leigh Maughn announced in 1987 that we were going to have a team in the ARL and would be a Knights supporter even if we never won another game , although a teary one lol. Here he is, back from the wilderness. Welcome back mate, I’m glad you didn’t wait until the Knights came good before posting again.
Curious to know what AOB, Parr and POS is thinking for next year. We have quite a few halves options.
We know Brown is lock, but 5/8 or 7?
More than likely Sharpe 5/8 or 7?
Cogger - 7
Gamble - 6
Jake Arthur - 7
Hunter - 6 or 7
What I don’t want is the halves merry go round to continue and that’s what I’m worried about. I would like to see J Arthur get a few games run.
Do we think Brown and Sharpe are a lock?
Thoughts?
I actually think Sharpe is a better player than Campbell. I know he can play anywhere. That’s the question.I don’t think they are a lock.
Brown yes. He’s a 6 or 7 lock.
Sharpe could be anything 1,2,5,6,7,14. Given his improvement - I wouldn’t put it past him to be working on his kicking game as soon as he can. Definitely could have a Jayden Campbell type player on our hands
I can’t really see us going into 2026 with Cogger, Gamble, Arthur, Hunter.
Gamble on a slippery slope back to NSW Cup - crazy he was the 7 for round 1 until injuries, and now he’s struggling to get a game.
Hunter worth persevering with to see what he can offer.
Arthur potentially playing for a spot in these last few weeks.
can change pretty quickly though if we give Gamble and/or Cogger permission to look elsewhere and let Arthur go to ESL.
