I would stick with McEwan after yesterday. He has that same look about that Lucas had coming through in 2023. He is bigger and more aggressive. We need to develop him and provide opportunities for him like we did with Lucas. I think he very successfully fills KPP’s role(and some) next year.

I saw him around town a few times, he is massive! Just freakishly giant 😄
 
Manuleleua playing a game of Flegg showed what a remarkable range of skills he has.
He was steamrolling over guys like a prop, running like a winger, throwing 20 metre passes like a 5/8.

He has his hot and cold games in reserve grade. I think it's to do with him not having a giant motor to go with the giant body, so he runs out of petrol if he has to do too many tackles in reserves.

If we can get him fit enough, the 110kg second rower with the speed of a winger is our David Fifita (when he was good).

He had a full preseason this year.
He was the guy with legs like tree trunks in the early training photos we couldn't identify.
I think he must have had a huge growth spurt last year because he was a 5/8 at Penrith a few years ago, and now he's huge.
Basically he's still learning to play in the forwards I think.

IDK if we have either the room or the space, but with Papi now likely retiring a Raider, hopefully Trey Mooney is still a chance.

Would love Mooney but can't see it. Papalii would probably only stay another year, and Mooney goes to 2027 I believe. They're losing Saulo too, so somewhat less competition for spots. They're also ladder leading, while we're cellar dwellers with uncertainty around our coach and the highest paid player in the game. Would be a tough sell.

I don’t think it would be, ladder leading is not a factor for him as he isn’t playing at all for the first team.

I doubt in the future he’d love to say to his kids “yeah see this Raiders team that was so good, yeah I played reserve there”

Money is another factor as a fringe first grader he wouldn’t get as much money as he would being a starter in the nrl like he would at the Knights.

Fame is another obviously people already know him but being a first grader at the knights and with his hard tough man style he could garner city wide fame which is hard to turn down as endorsements also come with that.

I’d be pitching these things as well as letting him know he has the chance to be one of the faces of the Knights
