Recruitment And Retention Discussion

Yeah if sharpe can take to 6, it would be awesome to be able to get both in the team at the same time
Fletcher to the 6 and Schiller to the right flank has to make people happy surely. That is pace and threat any way you cut it.
Have to agree, AOB would be looking at what Bellamy has done with two full back halves and thinking Sharpe would tear up teams if it comes off.

Also the more I think about it, would not be to different to what the broncos do with walsh and Ezra. I cannot remember Ezra ever throwing a great cut out pass or even a kick! Can't see why we can't have ponga as first receiver and Sharpe out the back in attack.

Main concern however would have to be Sharpe in defence, would need Lucas or KPP to be a body guard.

Ezra usually does play inside Reece, but yeah he doesn’t throw a lot of them. 90% of the time it’s out the back to Reece or he’ll run it.

Ezra is way more often the player backing up through the middle, sniffing around through the middle third for offloads etc - that’s where he really takes a lot of the fullback duties.

It sounds exciting to have Sharpe as the six. I also think Pryce could be a good option, running six. Who would be have at 7? Cogger, Gamble, Crossland or Hastings? I’m not sure in all honesty.

If Schilller is killing it in pre season could be a reason Sharpe six to get both of them in the side.

Yeah difference with broncos is they have Reynolds. Ben Hunt would have been perfect but they got him too hahaha.

Imo make a play for fogerty for young players to learn off next year. And this yeah hope for the best with the other halves

If Sharpe can become a good 6 next year,
Could he eventually become our long term 7?
Apparently he was a 7 in Juniors? I could be mistaken.

I’ve been reading on here some people say that they are hoping for Loza as a 7 I believe, so I think people are expecting him to be our long term 7 in 2-3 years (if everything goes 100% to the plan)

I could be wrong but I think it’s Loza

I’m not sure about Sharpe I do know he played in the halves but can’t remember if it was as a 7 or 6

I feel like sharpe would be a great support player sniffing around for breaks and offloads as a five eight. And his running game would cause havoc.
Exactly how Armstrong made a name for himself. It’s an effective effort play.

What I wish Ponga did more of instead of playing halfback and getting into positions to call and set up the next play. But id be happy to see Sharpe following waiting for the offload. Also, Sharpe probably outruns Ponga?

Tedesco does it well. As does Paps.

Unfortunately, the Raiders extended Fogarty until the end of 2026.
I believe 2026 is an option. Remains to be seen if it’s taken up. They seem to be transitioning towards a younger spine, some combo of Weekes, Stewart, Strange and Sanders in their 1-6-7.

I personally rate Sexton higher than Fogarty though, factoring in that the former is still yet to turn 24 and the latter is in his 30’s, so might as well just sign Toby lol.

I have no doubt he can attack and be amazing in the halves but similar to KP his defence is going to be an issue his a smaller body in the front line teams will send a ton of traffic at him.

Loza is a bit like katoa from the dolphins with a little bit more attacking flair. It will be interesting to see if he kicks on or is another Tyrone Roberts type who just stays the same

Telegraph reporting Knights as one of five clubs who have flagged interest in Dylan Brown (also Dolphins, Dragons and 2 unnamed clubs). Says he’s starting to meet with clubs next week.

Would be interesting to have seen Tyrone Roberts in the modern day, honestly think his game style would have thrived these days. Probably just came thru one decade too early sadly
