NRL Round 24 - Sharks V Knights - 4:05pm Sunday 18 August - PointsBet Stadium, Sydney.

No and probably without Trindall as well, I know they just smacked the Titans, but surely 2 rookie halves can't be up 2 weeks in a row, also Weilton likely out as well and hopefully we have Best back.

It’s kind of up in the air with Best. They originally said 3-4 weeks and then someone in the media said the season and they ran with it from there. No idea when he’ll actually be back.

Playing against two untested halves is the situation where boring AOB ball might actually work, if we show up. It puts the onus on the Sharks playmakers to create something rather than just play off the back of all the broken play opportunities and momentum the Titans handed them.

Doesn’t work against teams with key players who have actual vision and the ability to work towards something over multiple tackles of course.

Didn’t see the Sharks/Titans on Friday. Obviously the 2 backup halves did something right. Were the Titans terrible?

AOB will not change the side. For me I’m not sure about Maps. And Cogger at 14 is a waste. I like what I’ve seen of Will Pryce and think he deserves to be back in the side.

Will Lucus be available?

I think maps was ordinary, bordering on bad. Didn't see anything good besides the catch and put down try. Didn't see him make meter's or attack well and saw plenty of fall off in tackles

I’m thinking more Pryce unless Lucas is fit and ready, Maps went as well as I expected, not much metre gains a few missed tackles, nothing to instil confidence in, Lucas is a better 2nd row than centre but a better centre than Maps

Stats are in for reserve grade.
Hastings topped the tackle count with 42 and did 28 runs for 240 metres in 80 minutes at lock.
Oddly, he only had 3rd best fantasy points (63) behind 20 year old prop Jaxson Rahme (67) and Riley Jones (65).

For those interested in 18 year old prop Cody Hopwood - his first game of seniors - he came off the bench for 18 minutes and did 4 runs for 50 metres and made 17 tackles. He had 26 post contact metres, so over half the big boy's metres were post contact.

If the club wasn't sending Hastings a message that he is no longer part of our future plans, then having him at 14 is a no brainer. He'd offer probably what Elliot offered yesterday in attack, if not more. If he doesn't have to take kicks and take control of the entire attack he'll do well.
