Yeah that’s a point, you’d love for Gagai to have an understanding with the players around him and an ability to be involved in cohesive backline movements. For example, if you’re down 16-12 to, crazy random example, the Raiders, in an elimination final, it would be ideal for him to know how to fall into shape and provide the last pass for a try or, another crazy random example, run a strong decoy line to create space for KP to exploit…Yeah I'm just not sold on them being the best metres he can gain. The jink, pinball, half palm, slip through seems to take some effort from him for not much gained. I understand defences tire too but nobody seems to know what gags is doing for the attack side of things.
I love the individuality he brings but I'd love some cohesion or a set-play off the back of gags.
The club should be taking a leaf out of stickies book and asking why it has been found to be a bite in a judiciary but wasn't a send off at the time when all other cases in recent time have been.Yeah, weak, and even weaker for not sending him off.
I think it’s simply because going to the left using Fitz as the lead runner has worked over and over and over again during the win streak. No need to change what’s working, and it doesn’t matter if 2/3 of our tries come down the left, they all count the same. Might see more Dane-centric stuff on the right next year after opposing teams have undoubtedly done way more video work on our left edge attack and we need to adjust a bit.Gags does slot into good shape, when it is set up properly from the people inside him, I've always thought. Have memory of a couple of sweeping lines he's made to appear from inside the backrow to recieve the ball like a fullback to immediately be met by their winger, where he has gotten a slick pass off to Dom in the clear.
Hes definitely done it. Unsure who's to blame for why it doesn't happen more often because it seems to work 90% of the time
