Crossland played great but if AOB is naming a 23 man squad as reported, he just doesnt make the cut for me. Don't need a 3rd utility in the reserves alongside Mann and Gamble who are well ahead of him.

didn’t see much line speed in defence from the get-go last week, nor did we see multiple dominant defenders driving the ball carrier back. When we get to that level consistently in games for 80 minutes, I will be confident we can make an impression on the top 8 in 2023.

You either have Mann or Crossland on bench. Not both.
Top 13 is solid. Bench is poor but with better options to come by round 1.

I have no massive issue. His defence was strong last week. Always is. Crunched a few players, just don’t try and kick or play playmaker. At all. Ever. N.E.V.E.R.
Yeah. If we have someone better and fit. Got a feeling Elliot still isn’t 100% with his Hip. Hetherington obvious has an injury still too.

Might snag that 17 jersey until Croker is back, Brodie Jones stunk out loud in the first trial.
Only changes I see for Round 1 are probably Elliott to start and Mann to 14, Hetherington comes in for Crossland.

Elliot and Thompson are quality players.
From what I saw Crossland played well in the first trial, he certainly deserves another opportunity after his performanc.
I also thought Johns played well in the first trial and he also deserves another opportunity.
I do not like Mann being in the starting side, but with injuries and a suspension we lack depth.
We do need another experienced prop forward and a second rower to give us sufficient depth.

Happened all the time last year and he would switch to the bench. And if Elliot coming back from injury makes sense just to give him 20-30 minutes.
