It was in some respects a “prove it” deal from Wests and he wasn’t signed by them with a guarantee of playing in the halves so I think it’s likely an accurate number.

The thing with Hastings in my opinion is he is going to a 7 out of 10 every week I don't think he is going to win you games on his own but Will set the game up for your other players to which is what we need

He’s quite a big body, doesn’t particularly have a strength or weakness but just tries to go about executing the game plan his team want to play. Obviously we had moderate success with Pearce at 7 so will be interesting to see what happens in 2023.

Hes by far the best halfback option we could hope for under $1m
