Who are you supporting in the finals?

Now that the season is done and dusted, who is everyone rooting for in the finals?

Being a Canberra boy and an fan of a good underdog I'm hoping the Raiders can keep their form up against the Storm and knock them out in the first week.

I don't see them going too much further than that, and so as much as it pains me, I'll have to get around Cowboyman's boys to take it out 🥲
 
I like a lot of the Raiders players but hate Sticky too much to see him happy.

Sounds weird but I kind of want Penrith to go back to back. Winning again means they eclipse the 2018-19 Chooks as the best team of the NRL era. I hate the Roosters so this would please me. Panthers were built the right way and win off the back of dominance in effort areas rather than just collecting all the best players like the Infinity Stones.
 
Raiders for me too since that’s my brother’s team. Other than that it’d be cool to see the Eels get there, after that maybe Storm or Roosters.
 
If Penrith wins in week 1 then the Roosters can’t possibly play them in the grand final - their possible GF opponents in this timeline are Parramatta, Melbourne or Canberra.

They would have to lose week 1 in order to play Easts in a grand final.
 
A win for North Queensland in week 1 likely sets them up for a prelim with Parramatta, Melbourne or Canberra.

A loss means they’ll have to go through either Souths or Easts in week 2, then likely beat Penrith, to make the grand final.

You always want the week off and guaranteed prelim of course, but sometimes winning week 1 can set you up for a harder prelim than you would have had to play if you lost in the first week and then knocked over a weaker 5-8 team in the second. It doesn’t look like its gonna be one of those years.

This is my favourite analogy for the Roosters so far! All good points too.
 
Just kidding around mate. I made an assumption, probably because I had a convo with my dad earlier today explaining the finals system and he was incredibly confused by it. 😂 Did not mean to cause offence and im sorry if I did.
 
I understand how the finals system works.

I assumed Penrith would be beaten by Parramatta in week 1. They would then beat Melbourne in week 2 and the Sharks in week 3, to play the winner of Parra and the Roosters in the GF.
 
That’s interesting. I’ll be very surprised if Penrith lose. I know Cleary & Luai have been out but they might as well be brothers out there, I don’t think they’ll need game time to get their combination back.

We’ll find out in a week I guess.

If Parra beat them remind me and I’ll put up a funny post about how Battler is a genius and I’m a big dummy. 😂
 
Well regular season form says if anyone can knock Penrith off, it’s Parra. They’ve got the pack to compete with them.
