NEWCASTLE KNIGHTS V SYDNEY ROOSTERS - Fri 22 July - 7.55pm - MJS Newcastle

I think the whole forum should just close up for the rest of the year. Seriously, what are the positives? This football club is destroying their fan base with their p*ss poor efforts week after week.

The hard truth is the players just don’t care. This culture at the Knights has been around for decades and nothing will ever seem to change. Players come here on big salaries, walk around town like rockstars, play first grade every week without the fear of being dropped so who cares about the result…

The thing that would annoy and frustrate most Knights fans would be the fact that if you look at the teams coming 2,3,4 right now. These teams didn’t make the 8 last year and two of those clubs finished bottom 4 yet look at them now. Parramatta got the spoon in 2018 and since then have been around the top 4 yet here are the Knights who have shown no signs of improvement and continue to be mediocre but like I said… they don’t really care for the above reasons. Wayne Bennett was 100% right about this club, they are just happy playing first grade and being treated like celebs. Players need to be made accountable from the likes of Kalyn all the way down to whoever is warming the bench in NSW Cup.

The club is extremely lucky they have such a loyal and passionate fan base that turn up no matter what because that’s what is saving them at the moment.

I honestly don’t know how this club can be fixed if it even can be…

How do we constantly display no line speed. They aren't even that quick around the ruck. Look at the numbers in that try there. No urgency anywhere.

I haven't post much since signing up this year as I intended to.
My posts would have become repetitive.

I simply cannot stand Adam O'Brian as a coach. I had enough of him last year.
And as for post match press conferences...Pfffttt.
He is not an NRL coach.

I cannot stomach his ridiculous obsession with rubbish players.
Picking a rubbish player like Kurt Mann does my head in. But it's not just Mann.
Tuala is a rubbish player too. Anyone who knows anything about football can see that,
he goes backwards when he hits the ball up. He is always stopped dead at defence line
and makes negative post contact metres. But tonight was the last straw. That rubbish
pass to Lee was too much. And I know O'Brien will pick him again next week.

I am a mad Knights fan, In winter I sleep in a Knights jersey. But tonight, for the first time since
the Knights came into the competition, I gave up and we switched to STAN to watch Billions.
A lot of Knights fans I know have had enough too. O'Brian should have been sacked months ago.
The Knights have no future with him as coach.

If he is the coach next year, I will have to give up on the Knights and spend that time in more
enjoyable ways. I'm tired of a rubbish coach doing a pathetic job and picking rubbish players.

The good teams don't tolerate the rubbish O'Brian has been dishing up.

Thanks for reading.

Perfectly sums up this team, the rockstar attitude is what they have and no desire to win.

Drugs, easy women and lots of parties with a massive pay each month, they simply don't care.

There wasn't enough urgency to shut down the play on the other side ofnthe field, they just let them pass and get a kick off because it's someone else's problem then.

No you won't mate.

Isn't a single person here that hasn't told themselves at some stage in the last 15 years 'that's it, I'm done. Giving up on the Knights'.

Yet we're all still stuck in the purgatory. Try to enjoy it where you can, because you won't escape.

This team lacks intensity in practically every aspect of the game. It's why we are so terrible consistently.

Early in the first half when Sua'ali'i made that break and teddy got tackled.

Ponga made an attempt to tackle, then jogged back watching the play unfold, as did most of the rest of the squad. No urgency to get back and line up for the next tackle. If Tedesco didn't drop it, they score next play due to no D line at all.

if the NRL are serious about stopping players being concussed & if the concussion is caused by foul play IE: head high tackle, then the player concussed can’t return. The offending player should have to leave the field as well. This would stop players going out and targeting high profile players which I’m sure they do.
I mean look what happened in this case, Ponga was taken out with an illegal tackle, we got a penalty ( big whoop), lost one of our best players and the offender gets to stay on the field! How is that equitable?

Anyway back to the game.

It’s literally like they’ve never met each other out there and it only gets *worse* with more of that continuity which is magically supposed to create cohesion.

How anyone can think this coach can stay on is beyond me.
