Would like to see Simi at some point in the 14 jersey but don't see any reason in messing with a winning formula
That’d be my team as well, although might swap Klem and DSaf, depending on DSaf’s fitness level. Shame Fitz is injured as he’s been good the last 2 weeks.

Hard to pick the opening 2 front rowers considering the main pair would be klemm and dsaf. Both coming off injuries makes me think one with jsaf.

I'm sure I read AOB recently saying he likes always having a Saf on the field so maybe klemm and Jsaf.

Do we need Momo (or jones) off the bench for the backrow. Saf(or klemm)/thompson/Croker seems like 3 middles

Brodie Jones should make his way back via reggies, he's a solid reliable player but he's not a superstar who waltzes straight back in when ready

We have seen that most of the young guys have made massive gains in the pre-season - even some of the older guys.
Everything I read about the preseason said that Jones was one of the guys who was killing it. The other guys talked about were Clune, Young, Randall etc - and they are all killing it now.
I suppose he could have lost all the gains he has made by doing a month of rehab for a leg injury - but my feeling is that he will be as impressive as all the other guys who had a great pre-season.
If Mann and Barnett are playing injured just to make up the numbers, I'd even sit one of them out to make way for a fully fit Jones.

Who takes the left hand edge left vacant by Fitz?

Friz or Barney both prefer the right or do they put Brodie straight back in? The left edge was his last year from memory

The only change I would make is to start with Jacob and put Daniel on the bench as he returning from injury.

Thompson and Croker seem to have leap frogged a few guys with the form they have shown which is a great thing for the club to have happening ..
I dont think i would change that bench even for Jones and that's saying something.
I like Momoisea but his hands let him down in rd1 and imo Saulo hasn't really shone when in 1st grade.
Where as Thompson has played well, very well actually and Croker looks the goods too.
Just my opinion and probably wont ever happen BUT i would like to see Thompson given a shot in the back row , out wider maybe running at centre's sometimes with a good passing game he runs hard and he defends well ...Anyway i'd like to see it ...

LOOK OUT PENRITH WERE COMING FOR YOU , START QUAKING IN YOUR BOOTS RIGHT NOW......

Does it matter? He's not going to get a game anyway with our middle forward stocks.
thompsons been great but id still be inclined to put him back to ressies after his taste of nrl in the short term. Sue is a tough experienced middle man and still deserves his spot imo.

Everyone in the squad is going to get plenty of chances. I think it's becoming clear that the "next man up" catchphrase they keep using means even crucial players like Klem and Pong will be rested with minor injuries and Tex and Crokes will be thrown in to do their best.

In the long term that's an excellent formula Billy. Could have some teething issues I initially. Players are more likely to recover from minor injuries I stead of letting them progress to more serious ones.

Also everyone in NSW cup will learn their roles better with occasional tastes of 1st grade - making them stronger players and the team stronger because they know the structure and other players games.

Definitely following the storm/roosters setup which i think is a great move.

Unlike the Tigers, whose captain said pre game that he didn't know what his role was!

Interchange:

14. Phoenix Crossland
15. Jirah Momoisea
16. Leo Thompson
17. Mathew Croker

Extended Bench:

18. Simi Sasagi
19. Tex Hoy
20. Edrick Lee
21. Sauaso Sue
22. Dylan Lucas
23. Brayden Musgrove
24. Jaron Purcell

Extended bench looks thin on mid fwds, if DSaf isn’t right then, Thompson or Croker step up meaning Sue is likely to bench and he will be short of a gallop.
