Most loved & trash talked players of 2021

This is just for laughs but will be very relevant throughout the season........

Players to feel the love;

1. DSaf (monster year ahead)
2. Tuala (competition will drive him on)
3. Best (consistently brilliant to prove he’s a star)

Top three players that will have their name dragged through the mud in 2021. Here’s my guesses;

1. Pearce (grub turnstile with a **** kick)
2. Mann (because he’s not a 5/8)
3. Sue (I just have a hunch)

I’m interested to see where this ends up. Conscious it could be mistaken for the MSKOTW thread. Look at it as a boner or bashing thread!

I could easily put Ponga or Pearce No 1 on both lists, but I'll go a bit wider.

Feeling it:
1) Brailey - leaving us feeling what if for last year
2) Frizzel - quality performance will leave plenty in awe at times
3) Watson - effort, effort, effort

Why?!?:
1) The ref - whoever that might be
2) Shibs - think he'll still be a bit hot and cold
3) Lee - he's broken what now?

Realistically, I struggle to see anyone who will let us done effort wise, especially now Herman' s gone. I know Pearce will frustrate me at times with his last play options, I know Watson will bomb some tries after clean breaks, but i don't see anyone not putting.

To'a is the guy who could set the NRL on fire.
He did some runs in under 20s that would make Uate proud.
I kept waiting for him to get a chance last year, but he only got in the clear once or twice.
From all reports, and the little we saw in the Melbourne trial, he has trained the house down and is ready to really show us what he can do.

Refs....lols. How did I miss that one. Agree!

Can’t see Shiba getting in the first team. I think we’d be in a bit of strife if he’s getting picked.

'Hate' is a terrible word, along with calling players 'rubbish'. Sure we have favourites and some we are not so keen on but that does not define them as rubbish or hating them.

The only players I can't warm to are ones who are clearly taking money and not making an effort.
A heap of guys like Scott, BJ, Darius etc after the Bennett era.
I can't make up my mind if Moga wasn't trying or if he was just not able to come back from his 4th knee reconstruction.
But anyway, I'm pretty sure all our players now are doing the best they can. Even Shiba is doing his best, but I think he finds it hard to get up to the fitness level needed to use his skills for 80 minutes.
Some of the old guys Brown signed looked like they were going through the motions for a last payday, but maybe they were just too old and doing their best.

Tuala for the most overrated player on here, so don't get the love for him, mediocre at best.

Ha ha. Yes hate is a strong word, and as I said, it’s just for laughs but I can see why the word is upsetting. Truth of the matter is, there will be an awful amount of hate and blasphemy liberally tossed around on here throughout the year. I hope not. I hope all of our players kill it and appease every fan every week. Time will tell.

I think Mann's role at lock and him being utilised better will have him less hated this year.

Can see most having a man crush for Frizell this year.

O'Brien would love Mann.
Every time he has a position that's a problem, he throws Mann in and Mann goes OK.
He isn't a great fullback or hooker, or 5/8 or lock or centre or winger or halfback if your halfback goes off mid game - but he gives it a crack - and doesn't stink - whatever they ask him to do.
If O'brien asked him to play starting prop, Mann would give it his best shot.

Love -
Frizell, new player of high quality.
Brailey, quality traditional hooker that can tackle and provide good service.
Best, high chance of defying second season syndrome and pushing again for an origin berth.

Scratch your head -
Hoy, not close to FG standard and will be exposed filling in for a superstar of the game.
Mann, won’t matter where he plays he just isn’t of good enough quality for a side hoping to push forward to top 4 finish.
Fitzy, one trick pony running off of Ponga and was found out last season. Could continue on again especially with Ponga out to start the season.

My new number 1 hated Knights player of the year, and my most despised ever:

1) Cameron Smith

When that dreaded 9's curse strikes late in the season, Obi will sign his old mate, who will then carry us the rest of the way to a premiership, along the way being so smug about it that I am too busy spewing through my eye sockets to enjoy the moment.

I definitely agree a lot of the Mann hate comes from him being at 5/8. He’s a victim of his own versatility. I love his heart and would have him in my 17 for sure. Just hope not too often at 5/8.

Agree on all except Mann. He good for the 17. Hope you’re wrong about Fitz. But he needs a big year.
