Nathan Brown discussion

They're just coming out fired up, simple as that. No going through the motions, just coming out fast & physical. Playing like that immediately gets you on the front foot & shocks the opposition. Just have to figure out how to keep that flame going every week. Pearce would lead most of that with his screaming & running, everyone would see how he's playing & go with him, but can we still do it when he's not there, that'll be the challenge if he ever gets injured.

Ive been a supporter of Brown's all along and imo people calling for his head just wanted too much too soon .. People are too impatient it takes a lot of time to rebuild a club and team and more time for a team to gel and play as a team .
Im a bit supprised that we are going so well already.
So good onya Browny you showed the people knocking you that you do know what your doing and they know nothing.
Of course they have slinked back into there holes now though ...

I've been a Brown supporter of what he was doing all along, told him in person the club owes him a big debt of gratitude for the rebuild work.

The cracks started to appear when he had the team he wanted, start of this year and couldn't get the team competitive. The press were proclaiming us top 4, and apparently Ponga was going to win us every game by himself! But, we looked like a reserve grade team against seasoned NRL players and you can't blame anyone for questions being asked at that point. Each week the little doubt grew with each loss and the performances were getting worse culminating in the titans game.

Hell, after the Titans game I posted we would not make the 8 from here, it was unlikely.

Thankfully, for whatever reason, things got righted and we have been out of sight better since.

This forum is hilarious sometimes. You have your Brown lynchers, your Levi lynchers and your sione lynchers. Hell, even Pearce came in for some lynching given his early season form. Then there is the local talent vs imported argument

One set of lynchers will call out the other for their opinion, same vice versa, but each side doesn't consider themselves lynchers, hell no Hahaha.

Lets just be happy the squad has hit their straps and we are 4th on the ladder.

Brown can coach, Levi is a quality hooker, who cares where the players come from as long as we are winning. Oh, and the mining jersey has no effect on your chance of wining, and the length of warmup is irrelevant LMFAO.

With our team we don't need structure, we have so many great players in broken field and who can create something from nothing attack wise that's all we need to do.

Belt them in defence and play whats in front of us in defence and don't complicate it.

People calling out people for coaching poor or playing poor is perfectly natural.

We were rubbish early and showed zero signs of improvement, with the roster we had it was natural people wanted improvement or change if necessary and Brown didn't exactly have a winning record to fallback on.

I've been a Brown supporter from day 1, and I have been right behind his every decision from the start, but I finally gave up on him after that Titans loss. I couldn't keep defending him when that team with so many quality players were not aiming up. I thought he had lost them.

But, things have clicked again and I'm glad we didn't make any rash calls! I dont know what happened but it's awesome. Onwards and upwards.

I was the same. It wasn't that we were losing either as I can stomach that. It was the poor quality of our playing that led me to lose patience with Browny, particularly with the high profile players we've bought in. I've been critical of Browny, Levi, Sione and others at times, however I stand by those criticisms as they were made at the time. Like any other critic though, I am very happy to eat my words because whenever I am doing that, it means that there is improvement. Whenever I am critical as a Knights fan, I'd rather be proven wrong than right.

Yep I was exactly the same. Good to see the board and Gardiner were more calm than us!

And more calm then the overreacting media.

The criticisms of Pearce were fair, even he admitted as captain he needs to lead by example which he has done and funnily enough we have won five straight since.

Anyway you can beat yourselves and shoot yourselves in the foot for so many weeks before something clicks. Haven’t looked like losing since

The one main thing is, its good that BROWN never changed from his plan and never lost his cool or rushed his thought.
His a very centered man these days and seems to know exactly what he wants and needs to succeed in this game.

I actually put more trust in this forum than then media. But it really is a roller coaster ride in here sometimes.

I don’t think we were that bad at the start of the year with the exception of two games.

And I don’t think we have seen a true indication of where we are at yet. The Roosters game was supposed to let us know but in reality we got them at a good time.

Still, I am loving the progress we have made.

Serious question:

After five straight wins and a MASSIVE turn around in intensity, form, game management and an evolved attacking structure - do people believe we have a genuine shot at contending for the premiership?

Tentatively yes, we have completely subdued two very good forward packs the last two weeks. The next couple of games should be telling. Our defence is certainly getting to a finals intensity, and it is being maintained consistently. The signs are positive.

At the moment, no!

We haven't beaten anyone of worth yet. I will believe we are a genuine shot at the premiership when we can beat Melbourne, the Roosters or Souths, or at least go close.

And yes, we did just beat the Roosters but that was without 3 spine players.

I’m confident that we win that game even if all 3 of them are there.

We absolutely monstered them in the forwards. Cronk and Keary would’ve given them better kicking options and been more of a threat but they barely had a play the ball in our 20 when the game was a contest such was our dominance in the middle. They only looked like threatening us on the back of penalties and us dropping our intensity slightly.

Do you think we win that game if Pearce went down? Even with them without the 3 they had missing

One of the best things about that game is the fact that we gifted them 2 try's besides that they never looked like scoring against us .

If we get there in September with a fit roster, hell yes, another 3 months of building combo's we can give it a shake.

Hard to go past a Roosters, Bunnies or Storm if they are a 100% though.

We just beat the Roosters, yes we beat the rest of their team, yes Keary got injured early, it happens but we didn't take the boot off their throat for the whole 80 minutes. Victor Radley is a better player than Jake friend these days so they were just missing Cronk for mine.
