Missing their four of their first choice back five plus tapine and soliola. Maybe others?

Getting flogged in the trial was not a good thing.
A good performance certainly would’ve been preferable to the bad one we got but it means very little in the grand scheme of things. The guys got a bit of match fitness and got through injury free which is the most important thing.

Trials mean nothing to us punters.
They mean something to the coaching staff, who know what instructions they gave to the players and what skills or tactics they were trying to execute.

I remember going to an under 20s trial where Penrith absolutely smashed us and I went away thinking we'd get the wooden spoon in under 20s that year - we got the minor premiership - the trial meant nothing.

Quite amazing the stir this trial loss has caused. I would’ve liked to see a better performance and it then stops there for me. I’ll judge our round one performance in isolation of a win or loss in the trial prior.

The Sharks are a team full of stars capable of winning the title on their day.
But most of their star players are very inconsistant, so they could go either way.
Imo all these players are great on their day but are inconsistant or injury prone:
Moylan
Dugan
Johnson
Graham
Fifita
Morris

Fifita inconsistent?
From unstoppable beast that plays 70+ minutes to unstoppable beast that plays 60 minutes when the 17 is at full strength?

For example, 2017 Origin series, game 1 had one of the best games I've seen from a forward and then game 2&3 was quiet.

Also sometimes has a lot of brain snaps and gives away penalties.

I can agree with fifitas inconsistency. Only based on the fact he doesn't use himself as effective as he could. Saying that I'd have him in my front row rotation. He does his job to be 1 of the top 5 forwards in the game.

We’ll be much, much better both physically and mentally against the Sharks next week. Sure the trial was pretty average but if you’re getting upset over that than jesus...

Does like a brainsnap does Andrew

He gave away more penalties last year than any other player in the NRL and has been top 10 for most penalties conceded for the last few years

2018 - Conceded 39 penalties (Most penalties conceded in the NRL)
2017 - Conceded 18 penalties (8th most penalties conceded in the NRL)
2016 - Conceded 24 penalties (5th most penalties conceded in the NRL)
2015 - Conceded 19 penalties (6th most penalties conceded in the NRL)

Total since 2015 - 100 penalties conceded in 92 games
