Your team for 2019

Coaches are on big money to get results - same as players.
Ironically, If Brown was one of Brown's players, Brown would have sacked Brown for his poor performance by now. Given him the brown-eye as they used to say in the 1970s, but I haven't heard anyone say that in 30 years, so maybe that's not something people say anymore.
That last sentence was on point.

You do remember that Sione suffered such bad head injuries he nearly had to retire right which is why we reinvented the team to move him out of harms way last time he played in the backrow.

I still lol @ his first 16 rounds in defence running out of the line like someone jumping the fence and doing a nudie run at the cricket last year, we finally solved that by moving a bloke half his size with a bad shoulder in defence to do his job so he stopped getting shown up.

I wonder what the excuse will be this year for Sione if he fails to perform?

Whens the last time Sione added value to the team and wasn't a liability, legit question?

For me when he was on the Wing under Bennett?

I think you’re bending the truth a touch here buddy

Sione did have bad head injuries but he was cleared!!! The main reason he was moved to the centres was not to ‘reinvent the side’ as you would say it was because they never replaced Gagai and they needed a right centre.

If he wasn’t fit to play due to his HIA they wouldn’t be moving him back to the second row, that’s just the plain truth.

I also think he had a good year in 2017, but you’ll never get a Sione hater to agree

Nothing like moving a centre to the back row or 5/8 where they have to do more defensive work to ‘hide them’.

If that was Brown’s intention he really is as bad a coach as some of you like to say.

I thought he was ordinary in 2017 with the exception of a few games, like the win against the raiders. That could be applied to his whole career thus far really.

Imo the best we have seen was when he debuted in 2014 and the 5 or 6 games at the back end of 2016 in the forwards. Based on those performances I thought he would be a real weapon on an edge but it just didn't happen.

Wrong he was moved and was quoted as being moved to reduce his fatigue in defence.

Love Sione great kid and good clubman but fair dinkum duty of care he should have had a mandatory 12 months off then eased back through NSW cup for his own welfare.

What on earth are you on about he was moved to the centre to save his career. Now his ailments and let's hope they are, are behind him. His being moved back to the forwards where brown wanted him initially.

I’m sorry wasn’t he moved 3 in which is a far more influential defensive position who makes more tackles to stop him ‘getting shown up’?

Haha come on, you're not really suggesting Sione was moved out of the centres in D because he did such a good job are you? That's given me a chuckle.

Maybe they moved Watson to the centres because ‘he’s half Sione’s size and has a bad shoulder’?

Gardner said at the time they were looking to reduce his fatigue & maybe minutes, it was actually sounding like he was going to be played off the bench. Brown was then quoted as saying that unless they find a suitable centre before the season starts, they were going to have to move Sione out there as a stop gap. Sione to the centres was only cover, in both Brown's & Sione's eyes, he was a forward.

You guys were seeing what you wanted to see.
Sione was making as many tackles as the rest of the backline put together in many games, and he was the guy getting up fast to try to make tackles.
Put him in the Melbourne team and everyone would be rushing up with him, disrupting the attack and not leaving big gaps.
Our defence was bad, but it wasn't the guy making 20+ tackles and being keen who was our big problem - it was the other guys who weren't.
Bedsy was asked about our poor defence by another commentator, and he didn't want to name names, but he said the players all needed to show more enthusiasm, and the one guy he wouldn't have been talking about was Sione.

Well it makes more sense than moving a defensive liability to a more important defensive position.

Think it's because closer in field there's a lot less room & more help. Out in the centres, you're on your own with opposition centres that can run around you with early ball or over you with pure strength.

Look, there are genuine concerns about his coaching to date. At the end of the day, I don't think people are just hating on Brown or want him sacked, everyone knows we are a good chance at being successful in 2019, they're just fighting against the people who are blindly behind Brown & choose to ignore any deficiencies because of the big name signings he's brought. No matter the side you're on, we'll all be keenly watching this season because we have some very high quality players now which should make the world of difference.
What concerns would that be and what deficiencies .
