Matt Dufty

Watson killed it in the Nines. He's not much of a ball-player but he can run and find holes in the line. I think he'll kill it on kick returns.
needless to say different ball game

I'm not saying he won't be good I'm just yet to be convinced, as I said on the subject a few months back it's not just the 'sexy stuff' that counts he will need to be solid under the high ball and well positioned in defence especially on the 5th tackle. Also I acknowledge Watson is fast but is he 'fullback fast'?? I'd say if you put him up against the other 16 NRL fullbacks he would likely be bottom 4. Personal preference of mine for the fullback to be lighting quick.

Over 40m I'd back him to be top 5, he's as quick as Ponga over 40m
His small though, be lucky if he's 5'9 85kg

I wouldn’t think he would be tbh

Dufty
Holmes
Tedesco
Johnston
Mbye
RTS
Tommy T
Barba

Would all comfortably be quicker I reckon and there are a few others like Wighton, Hayne, Edwards, Drinkwater, Meaney & Brimson who would be as quick if not quicker I reckon. I’d only back him to beat Darius in a foot race out of all 16 starting fullbacks in the NRL

I'd back him to give that lot a run for there money.
Teddy and RTS mite gap him though

Holmes ? Dufty? Johnston? Those guys are lightening quick.

Anyways time will tell how he goes he’s clearly going to be given first shot so we will let his performances judge how he goes at fullback. As for who is quicker I can see this argument being long and fruitless lol

Why are we talking about a sprint race. Watson is quick. Go watch a few of his tries where he clearly out does opposition. Speed isn't everything. You need to have mid strength to be a tackle breaker aka teddy. Watson looks like he has decent core strength otherwise he wouldn't have been brought here for his running ability.....

Unless you have time stats or have them side by side how can you tell who is faster and over what distance ..Over 50 meters I reckon Watson would be up there but like most its just a guess

It's not how fast you are but what you do with the speed and ability you have, you look a whole lot faster if the passer of the ball gives you a half yard, also if you time your run. Anyone of those mentioned above will score a almost length of the field try if the inside play creates the gap required for an open run.
Me personally, I like to look at the earlier play that created the break, bad defensive read or clever set up causing the gap

No straight line sprinting contests for Ponga please. Gotta keep those hamstrings in top shape. Let Mullen run in his place... And watch him stop after 10m

Wrong! By along way too! Stop talking through your bottom hole! If you you know something then share it, but don't make up stories!
