Tevita Pangai Jnr

Any coach who isn't competing for a title with Brisbane deserves to be sacked.
They have the most money, a whole state to recruit from, etc etc etc
They should win every second year, and consider themselves unlucky when they don't win.

Apparently there was a TPJ interview on channel 7 tonight and he confirmed he's not going anywhere and will be staying a Bronco?

Meh. He’s just what we need, but if he doesn’t want to come, then so be it. We’re in a good position to pick up other props, including others who might be squeezed out of Broncos due to cap constraints.

With the Broncos in the finals I don't really think he is going to come out on the news in brisbane and say he is leaving for newcastle.

His loss. He can stay in Brisbane with the scum and the brown paper bags and hopefully we beat them again next year.

So many players are happy to play for Brisbane for far less money.
I totally believe it.

The reporter said he is not going anywhere, TPJ did not confirm it. I'm not saying he is coming here but that interview for me has not proven either way. Until he has actually signed a contract and its announced it's not over. He did say that he is getting rid of his manager because he charges 20% on TPA so would not surprise me one better if the Broncos are trying to top his price up with TPA.

I think any player in the finals would be holding of making a decision on a move until after there team is done so any new signings from the top 8 teams might be a little while coming.
Saying that I have to agree it sounds like he is staying in Brissy

Of course Badel and Bennetts puppets in the Brisbane media need to run to do damage control just like when Brownie put Bennett in his place when he sledged him.

Whichever junior coach decided all his brothers were 110kg outside backs probably got it very wrong.
You have to wonder how all those big boys would have gone in the forwards. As outside backs I think 3 of his brothers played reserve grade, and maybe 1 of them had a few games of firstgrade - but they all look like they could have put on a few kgs and been just like Tevita.

Ben Ikin pointed out that Wayne is using all these outside noise things (his/Pangais/Oates contract situations) to distract the media while his side prepare for finals football. Same thing happened when rumours got out he might leave Newcastle in 2013 because there was a premiereship clause or whatever.

Going on to talk about the junior systems, it amazes me that for a team with that many resources, advantages and pushing salary cap boundaries that they haven't won a premiereship since 2006. 2015 was nice but the Broncos don't go to GFs to finish runners up.

Wouldn't look too much into his puppets in the courier mail jumping the gun on TPJ.

If he was locked in to signing, why did he bother coming to Newcastle to look around. If he was dead cert staying, he wouldn't waste his time.

Can't be to bump up his negotiating power with the broncs if him, his manger, the club and the whole NRL know he isn't going anywhere.

Not getting too excited at all about him being a viable proposition for our club to be honest, there is very little hope or scope of him coming based on what is out there IMO...The only thing I would say is that we would potentially have to be his second choice if things really fall over for a Bronc's deal because we would have to be capable of offering the most lucrative contract options of the other suitors, he has strong family links here, he has player ties with our existing roster and he has gone to the trouble of visiting ( although I know he has done this with other clubs too)

It will be what it will be...but it will still generate talk until his contract with his manager has expired in October and pen is put to paper with a club

I watched him for years in lower grades and he used to drive coaches crazy. He always had unlimited potential but he'd just have a few runs and go to sleep on the field.
In one of the articles I read yesterday it said Ricky Stuart told him he'd never play firstgrade, and that would be because he'd only play for 10 minutes and then start daydreaming or something and just be wandering around in backplay looking for 4 leaf clovers or something.
He's only ever had a crack when playing for Wayne, and the gamble for us would be, is Wayne the only coach who knows how to rev him up?
