The Mole is reporting Frank-Paul has walked out on his Super League contract to return to the NRL. His young family already lives in Newcastle and the Mole says he will try to join the Knights.

Former Kiwi Test prop Frank-Paul Nuuausala has sensationally walked out on English glamour club Wigan, remaining in Australia when the rest of the team flew home earlier this week.

The 31-year-old Nuuausala still has two years to run on a lucrative deal with Wigan but is believed to be homesick and keen to re-establish himself in the NRL.

Alarm bells were ringing when Nuuausala was the only member of the Wigan squad not to play in last weekend’s trial against Souths at ANZ Stadium.

Wigan coach Shaun Wane played down his absence - both after the game and when the squad returned to England yesterday.

But WWOS has learned that Nuuausala never got on the plane with his mates and is after a deal with an Aussie club.

Nuuausala's young family have been living in Newcastle and he is likely to try winning a spot in the young Knights squad, where his experience would prove invaluable.

Nuuausala played over 150 games for the Roosters from 2007 to 2014 and 31 games in two seasons at the Raiders in 2015-16.
 
His brain snaps got him moved on from the raiders but I would take him here it’s not like he would be a starting prop and worst case scenario he would simply add more depth to our forward stocks. Gold Coast are supposedly very keen on tolman as they need another prop for this season sonic an seen them going after FPN too.
 
In 2016 his last season with the raiders he averaged 8 hit ups and 80m a game which is not bad for a bench forward and in 2015 his stats were very similar.
 
Could do worse if the price is right.

Homesick problems resolved, ex-teammates around and the opportunity to be a part of something exciting.

No doubt we'd be his 1st option, depends how much he's prepared to be fighting for a spot in the 17 and convince Brown he's worth a shot.

He already signed with Wests for this year, moved his family here, but a few weeks later it was found out he hadn't actually asked for a release from Super League yet, without Wests knowledge. If no NRL club wants him, can see Brown signing him as a minimum wage/2nd tier Mickey Paea type role.
 
Heighington brings so much more off the field, but I would actually prefer FPN on the field. Would bring much more impact off the bench.

For the right price, he’d be a good depth signing who could surprise and play his way onto the bench.

All the old guys will be in the NRL squad more weeks than not. Wouldn't be a bad thing to have an old fella running around with the kids in reserves all year like Paea/Newton.

Is free to find a new club, he kept Jacob Saifiti on the Fiji bench during the world cup.

We seem to be a Roosters loving team atm.
 
I like eloni. Shame he never seemed to really crack firsts a lot. Maybe because he is more work focussed then footy but he puts in. Couldn't hurt to get him here.
 
I don't rate Eloni too much, he's ripped but I think he's a bit outclassed physically in the NRL. Would be nothing wrong with him on a 2nd tier deal though.
