If Sione were in a top 4 side everyone in the game would be raving about him.
We ask that kid to do a hell of a lot, and he does his best.
If we had a strong forward pack I doubt he would have ever been asked to play in the forwards, or if he had been used at second row, he would be a wide running second row terrorising the outside backs, and not spending half his time covering for our props.
Comparing him with other young guns in the NRL is very hard to do, because most of the 20 year old guns are playing in great sides, and their coaches are letting them play to their strengths and having older guys "look after" them by doing the hard yards.
Jack Bird is a good example. He basically gets to inject himself into the play when he feels good about it, and after the old hard nuts in his side have battered the opposition into submission. In contrast, Sione has to do more than his share of the hard work and has to be the guy putting his hand up to cover for guys like Starling and Stockwell.
I honestly have no opinion on where Sione should play next season, but if we can put a very good squad around him, and the coach lets him play to his strengths, he'll look pretty damn good as a player.
