If Sione were in a top 4 side everyone in the game would be raving about him.
We ask that kid to do a hell of a lot, and he does his best.
If we had a strong forward pack I doubt he would have ever been asked to play in the forwards, or if he had been used at second row, he would be a wide running second row terrorising the outside backs, and not spending half his time covering for our props.
Comparing him with other young guns in the NRL is very hard to do, because most of the 20 year old guns are playing in great sides, and their coaches are letting them play to their strengths and having older guys "look after" them by doing the hard yards.
Jack Bird is a good example. He basically gets to inject himself into the play when he feels good about it, and after the old hard nuts in his side have battered the opposition into submission. In contrast, Sione has to do more than his share of the hard work and has to be the guy putting his hand up to cover for guys like Starling and Stockwell.

I honestly have no opinion on where Sione should play next season, but if we can put a very good squad around him, and the coach lets him play to his strengths, he'll look pretty damn good as a player.

If Sione was playing for Melbourne, he would be on $150k and playing off the bench or filling a role in the centres like Cheyse Blair.
At our club, he's our star attraction and one of our better paid players.

Bellamy can turn shyte into sugar. There's a few in our team would grow a leg in the Storm system

I don't think Sione is shyte though.
He can hit hard and run hard but his ceiling isn't that high.
He would do well under Bellamy but hes not going to turn him into a "star"
He would be just another cog.

Ive been with u on the tackling at the hip as well.

Though if all of them do it we will be stuffed mate, u gotta wrap the ball up.

Joey didnt have 6'4 110kg agile backrowers to contend with in every team.
Every good backrower is like a ben kennedy today.. 10yrs ago kennedy was a god today he would be run of the mill.

The last decade has been the biggest chance in the game ever.

I personally hate how it has become.

There all massive robots that play way to much structured football its a boring repetitive game in all 8 games 26rds a yr.
100% mate. Traditionally 2 in the tackle. First hits the hip, second takes the ball to put them on their back/wrestle. Mostly ends up in a backslam type tackle. Now they get numbers in and it wrecks the defensive line, especially ours.
As you say though it's all about structure and running shapes........ I remember being on the backend of a John Fifita tackle and broke 2 ribs....that bloke hit hard.

I was giving him the benefit of the doubt due to the late start, and can see a footballer in him, but he may not have another gear for NRL. I would like to see him with a full pre season, but if he's pulling the homesick card this early, he must feel out of his depth!

We would be the only club willing to let him play and coach a different team I'd bet. But I would think he's done playing now
