I don't get how the storm can out bid us for Gagai lol

Toohey has been strong in saying the whole time Gagai ain't leaving, today when asked all he said was we won't get into a bidding war to keep him ....

We're on our way to 4 consecutive spoons people ....

Toohey answering lots of questions on twitter tonight. Of interest, says Hodko is on $800k next year and we won't get a marquee player for 2018.

Are we still waiting patiently confident Gids, Brown and Mooney have this under control ?

Said from the start we won't sign any marquee players, didn't expect we'd lose the only one we had lol

Unless someone becomes available... which there is still a good chance there will be. Dogs need to free up space, so do the Roosters, and the Sharks will if they get Dugan.

Chill out brah, everything's fine.

Are u sure ?

I'm not ....

This was Brown's plan to start from scratch and I know we were in a bad place before he took over but they weren't this bad. I honestly don't think he understands what type of club we are, we're not a Sydney club !!! A Sydney club can start from scratch and attract good players straight away, we can't we never have been able to apart from when uncle Wayne was here. Even if we are patient and guys like Graham or Tolman get pushed out and have no other choice but to come to Newcastle how happy are they going to be about coming here ??

I asked him how would it look if we lost our only rep player in Gagai to go with our inability to sign anyone. He must be still thinking about his answer.

Yes, but the point is they will move their ordinary players on, not marquees.
I still think we're a good chance of snaring Graham. There will be a heap of good players come on the market this year. If we keep throwing the bait out in the right areas, we'll get some decent bites.

somethings gotta give at the dogs foran and woods are on 2mil between them if you trust the media reports. Moving on kasiano, lichaa. Eastwood and hoppa doesnt free up 2mil. And isnt the cap changing from a top 25 to the top 30 players which also puts more pressure on their cap situation.

They need to move a hell of a lot more than that if the figures they are reporting are anywhere near true. Woods 800K, Foran would be close to if not 1 mil, Graham supposibly on over 1 mil for next season and Mbye is on a back ended contract and also near 1 mil for next season. I'm not aaying those figures are correct but if that is anywhere near true that nearly half there Cap in 4 players. But move Eastwood and Kasiano Plllllllease

Surely in the position they are in they see grahams 1.15mil contract as excessive given his age and moving him on would be the best move providing someone will take up his 2018 contract in full.

Well it seems Kasiano is getting moved on, Eastwood will be next I'm sure. I think they keep Graham and Tolman

Thats 600k combined add Reynolds another 400k so thats 1mil "ISH"
Woods 800k
Foz 1mil
Graham is backended from 550k each yeah of a 750k deal so his costing 400k more next yr then this yr!
So where now upto 2.2mil then Mbye is getting 700k in 2018 over 500k in 2016 so another 200k more
Klemmer has a new deal from 2018 and id say its double what his first nrl contract was of 300k.... but thats say its 500k so another 200k more.
So now its "roughly" 2.8mil more add to that any other players they have on great deals in 2018 from 2017 and things look very tight.

The most important thing is, we have the actual dollars to bid for two million dollar signings - that is huge.
