Signing a bloke like Dugan is one part of the reason we are in this rebuilding stage. Signing big money blokes who have no intent of playing for the club for any reason other then money aka Tariq & Darius. Not to mention the fact he's extremely overrated 800k is ludicrous even for us in the state we are in.

Id much rather throw 600k at latrell, yes unproven but he's got unlimited potential and would fit in perfectly with our young core

U dont think Dugan tries his best for the team?

Latrell has endless ability though he may never play 50 nrl games also... lazy bad attitude kid who thinks his god gift at 19...

No farrrrrrking way should we pay him 600k.... that would put is in a bigger mess then the current nsw centre and Australia centre coming here.

find me a player who wants to come here for reasons other than money? Money is literally the only thing going for us.
600k for a bloke playing for wyong or 800k for a current aus rep! Id cough up the extra 200k personally.

I can name the so called 'game winning' forwards in the nrl on 1 hand. Having a bloke with the work rate of Tolman fixes up a major problem in our squad. Add a few others like Vete and preferably a guy like Kasiano and we have strengthened our pack majorly

I'll repeat myself and say no more on the topic. Not 1 person including myself has said Tolman is a dud. You are clueless if you think there's 5 or less forwards in the NRL that can "win a match" for their side.

He has added much needed experience to the Maitland pack. Although it has quite a few guys who were apart of the 'dream team' back in 2010 ish. The boys were stoked with their win, been awhile between drinks.

And what the hell might you be basing this assumption off? The fact that we got rid of him at 15 or that he had a few mishaps in the last couple of games? Pretty poor statement there if you ask me. He's a game breaker and has shown that already. You even said it yourself, he's 19, so there's plenty more to come from him and I'd take him back any day.

Also Nelson Asofa-Solomona MOTM tonight, yes please!

I base if off his smug attitude and meeting him 3 times in person at the last koori knockout.

Whats ur past history with the kid?
Fyi id take him as well but not for 600k as old mate suggested or ove dugan at the minute.

He was after a extended deal and at the time Brown wasnt keen on the 3yr deal Tariq was after........

That's what kids are like, you were one of them once yeah? Doesn't mean he wouldn't be a good addition to any team if he's playing well enough.
My past history? Two grand finals and about 8 other games playing against him and his brother, was a grubby player back in the day, but was a winner and as passionate as anything. There you go.

I don't think it's acceptable for a player to think they're bigger than the club either. From memory we were intending on re-signing him but like you said not for the 3 years and money he was demanding. It's a good thing the Dragons took him off our hands, too smug of an attitude...

Gagai summed it up in an article last week. They all think of Newcastle as the area around the stadium, because that's all they have seen.
Gagai said he is now very happy with the lifestyle around Merewether and the beach, and other guys like Ponga seem to have been sold the Hunter Valley lifestyle, but your average NRL player thinks of Newcastle as a particularly unattractive country town.
