Your team v Sharks

1. Ross - why not, nothing to lose.
2. Sio
3. Gagai
4. Pete
5. Gagan
6. Lamb
7. Hodko - I wish we had someone else
8. D Saifiti
9. Levi
10. Stockwell
11. Buhrer
12. Sione
13. Barnett

14. Tupou
15. Wardie
16. Starling
17. J Saifiti

Pretty good side Aidos.

Im all for Stocky starting over Starling.... or the twins together.

Cant see Ross going to full back... cant pass at all which would kill any ball movement we have.

1. Elliot
5. Ross

Fitness of both Wardle and Tupou is a concern against a super fit Sharkies side. Stone and Yates for mine.

I'd like to see stockwell start - if starling has another game like that I think we will but can't imagine he'll change the starting side much this week

Agreed. Really enjoying Stockwell's work lately. He's been great.

To be honest I don't think we really have a ball-playing option as Elliot or Pete can't really pass either. At least Ross will be a bit of a threat from the back even if there's some deficiencies that come with it.

Tupou's form in reserve grade means nothing.
Most senior guys who go back to reserve grade just have a training run for fitness - they don't have a real go.
He'll know if he's ready, and Brown will take his word for it.
The guy was a deserved regular for NSW and Australia.
At 60% of his best he would be a class above anyone else we have.

Sorry Billy i totally disagree here...

If tupou was already a regular first grade player just chasing some match fitness then sure that mite be the case...
But his not a regular first grader and hasnt been for 2yrs.... if he want that firsts jersey he should be leading the cup side not being a bystander.... u would say the same if this was Korbin we were talking about.

I've seen a lot of guys who were very experienced firstgraders go back to reserve grade and treat it like a training run. Willie Mason spent the whole game laughing and trying to be a clown. Timana Tahu used to push other guys into his spot to make tackles for him.
In his first game of reserve grade Tupou made 36 tackles and only had 3 runs for 17 metres. He was clearly getting his tackling groove back and his 3 runs were probably when someone threw him the ball by mistake.
Clint Newton tried a bit in reserve grade, but he did more yelling at the young blokes than doing it himself.

I thought starling would be an upgrade on mataora (which isn't saying much) but I was wrong.

Last three games he's made 56m, 61m, 69m playing about 40 minutes. That is woeful and would comfortably be the worst starting prop in the comp.

Meanwhile Aaron Woods has done 126m in 32min of the first half.... yeah i was absolutely wrong claiming we should sign him for whatever it costs lol

Brown is hinting at changes in his press conference today - saying a few guys have been below par for a few weeks and saying a few guys in reserve grade need looking at.
He also says Toops is ready.

Gagan and King are the two in reserves I think are standing out (if you don't count Hughes, who is injured now). Fitzy is also in career best form and fitness IMO.
Randell is Randell. He is doing his best, as he always does.
Pearsall - he is better than most think, and Brown likes him.

Underperformers are Starling, Jacob, maybe Yates this week.

I think Toops and King in for Starling and Jacob might be what he is thinking.

I really hope they bring fitzy, kingy, and gagan up in to the squad . They will probably play good because their trying to earn a spot in the nrl and will probs bring energy to the line up

Fitzy is still our smartest guy off the field and our dumbest on it, but he looks fit and angry.

He looked very cranky in the canberra trial and was keen to mix it with the big boys.... wouldnt mind giving him a crack at prop... mite bring that agro some are after..... maybe
