Official: Knights sign Kalyn Ponga on a 4 year deal

Coote torn calf. With Chudleigh out injured there is no chance of Hampton shifting to fullback so Ponga is a near ok certainty of playing. But if you listen to some on here we don't care about him and won't ever play him again.

There's no question that Ponga, had he resigned with the Cowboys, would be ahead of Javid Bowen for a spot on the wing. So its pretty obvious that the Cowboys aren't making selections entirely on the basis of merit.

And I'm totally fine with that. I'd do the same if i were Green. But let's not pretend like it didn't happen in round 1

The only reason Ponga will be selected at FB is because there is no possible way that he could justify, even to the playing group let alone the wider footy community, selecting one of either Gela-Mosby or Bowen ahead of him. They are just so far inferior.
 
The Rd1 selection of Bowen was the right selection for the Cowboys team!
ur view is Bias of Ponga Kenny and thats fine as u/we as knights fans have our own personal want forhim to be in the nrl playing against the best players he can.

Bowen is proven in the nrl and would walk into our nrl side at centre or wing... infact i wouldnt mind us having a chat to him for 2018.

There's not a competent footballing pundit on the planet who would select Javid Bowen ahead of Ponga anywhere in the backline, in any team, anywhere

Please cut the crap. If you're going to be pointlessly adversarial to every point I make, at least try to make a case for something that is actually defendable

How can you say that when Bowen was picked ahead of him last year and didn't do anything wrong. In fact proved himself capable as a NRL standard outside back.

Just because Ponga has all the wraps and carved up a Mickley mouse 9's tournament doesn't mean he goes straight to the top of the pecking order.

I prefer backing our premiership winning coach then someone so caught up in hype because they signed for your club.

Bowen was rightfully picked ahead of Ponga last year. I would agree. Bowen is older and at the time Ponga wasn't ready for FG, at least that's how it seemed, given his size etc. So your point is mute.

But what turned out to be true is that anyone who had assumed that Ponga wasn't ready, or that Bowen was the better option, was actually wrong. He debuted and made his opposition look silly with his first touch.

And so it was from that point onward that Ponga became the better option. You know it. I know it and everyone else knows it.

That is why Ponga singed the biggest deal for a teenager in the history of the NRL and Bowen is spending most of his time in the intrust super cup

No that is purely UR OPINION.

Most people see that Bowen has done his job and well every time his had a chance in firsts just cause ponga had a good run in a game doesnt and never has warranted a instant game every week.

If it did Deniss would still be in our nrl side... just saying.

Maybe look on the cows forum and see what there own teams thoughts are?

Moving on from the Cowboys selections ... you obviously have different views on them so not much to be gained here. :)
 
I'm saying Ponga is a better player than Bowen, and for some profoundly nonsensical reason, people are arguing the opposite haha

Honestly, so ludicrous. It actually makes me laugh out loud
 
So because of his first run down that sideline he is already better then Bowen? How about Bowens try scoring ratio in first grade to Ponga's? Bit more important then a fancy sidestepping run resulting in a conceded penalty don't you think.

Ponga signed a huge deal with a very desperate club. Not the first time it's happened and won't be the last.
