Who will replace Jeremy Smith?

Jaybro

Matt Parsons
Merrin just signed with Penrith for massive overs so let's swoop in and offer Docker a decent deal, IMO he would be perfect to replace Jeremy Smith ......

I must be missing something with Docker. I think he's incredibly overrated. Saying that though it's not like we have heaps of quality forwards coming out of our ears.

I feel we have some decent candidates to take over from Jez.

We need specialist props not these guys that can play any other position than what we actually need.

Docker is a hard hitting hard working lock who can play more than 40 mins a game, he is what we need to replace Smith .....

No reason or mail for him to come here I just think we should make him an offer, I think he would ask for the same type ofmoney we had to spend to get Jez here .....

Docker reminds me of Joel Edwards a bit.
Great tackler and tough as, but has a limited overall game and is also on the smaller side for a forward.

Don't exactly know how reliable this is but this tweet just came through regarding Docker

I'm sure I'm not the only one who thought we had links to Docker so the thread title has been changed lol

Who will replace Jeremy Smith is a fair but premeture question though, almost certain it won't be Docker

Paul Carter (son of Panthers Great, Steve Carter) who was sacked by the Titans after his second drink driving arrest, he's playing for Burleigh in the QLD Cup. He'd be a great replacement for Smith as he can play Lock and Hooker. He's cheap too.

I'm definitely not saying I have any mail or reason in saying Docker would come to newy I just think we should at least make contact and see if he would entertain the idea .....

You're probably right Tariq could play lock and either Tapine or Fitzgibbon could step up to the left edge and we could use the money to buy a quality prop which might be smarter .....

Gun thread and great suggestion with Docker - apparently he put on 5kgs in the off season. Imo he is right on the cusp of Blues selection, though, Penrith have gone to great lengths to keep him, they know as well as everyone else just how good he is. Docker is like Hilder on horse steroids

Imo Stone should move Tapine to lock. Strong, good range, has a ball game and an offload and essentially, he can play prop...

Yates has always played lock till last year.
Last year he was probably our hardest working forward in NYC over the full season and he trained with firstgrade all off season.
This year he is back to lock and i can see him playing 80 minutes and doing what he always did in the lower grades, and that is working really hard when the other middle defenders get tired.
He has a real habit of spotting when other guys are struggling and stepping up his own intensity to make up for it.
We'll have to see how he goes this year, but I think he has everything i'd like to see in a lock.

He'd definitely be a good pick up and I think he's a really good utility type player... IMO, if he came to the knights it would be at the expense of someone like Tyler Randell. He'd be behind 4 or 5 genuine back rowers we already have on the books, so I don't think we need him as a lock. I'm a Randell fan, so, don't really know how Carter would fit in to where we're going as a squad. I agree with other posts that we need to throw money at a really good front rower or two.

Randell CAN play hooker and lock/second row, but was originally a 5/8, wasn't he one of the best in Australia at one stage? Maybe just me, but I prefer to have Paul Carter starting lock over Tyler Randell, no doubt he's a good player, but I don't think he'd ever be a regular starter.

I think our long term lock is Korbin Sims, just get him to do some more explosive training and sprint training first...
