Round 17: Knights v Bulldogs @ Mackay Stadium

Really good effort. They looked like they were gone halfway through the 2nd half but just just kept going. Pleasing aswell that Mullen & Boyd were both average and other players stood up. A really, really important win.

And sorry about the poor updating everyone!

Most important win this year. I thought we'd lose it in the end but thankfully we got it. We'll be on 20 points next week and hopefully a few points in front of the Bulldogs, Warriors, Panthers and Raiders?

Great win to the knights but where the hell was Boyd today. He went missing today and dropped a few balls as well. He needs to bring what Billy Slater brings to the storm.

Lets just say he's got Origin and some 'off field' issues going on at the moment that's probably messing with his head.

Nah man you were great on the updates. Great Job

SO glad we got the win. My heart was racing in the final minute. I have never understood the hate for Houston, thought he has been playing not that great this year but today he shut the haters up! Hopefully after the bye we will fire up against the panthers.

Eh attack he was good but his arm air grabbing we could do without. I'd still play Scott next game.

Your updates were fine mate :)

What a game!! I've never held my breath so much in 80 minutes. I thought we were completely dominant in the first half even though the scoreboard didn't reflect it, we had them on the back foot and they could barely walk, just stupid penalties and mistakes kept letting them off the hook. I gotta say that try saver from Roberts would have to be one of the best I've seen and was a big reason why we went on to win. He was brilliant today. So were Snowy and Mason, they kept us going forward and they were just as good in defence, and Smith was his brutal best, what a difference he makes to the strength and aggression of our defence. It wasn't the prettiest win but now we know we can win grinding games, all year we've been absolutely flogging teams in nearly all our wins, it's good to see them hang in there, muscle up and defend a victory. Well done to all the boys, they all played their part! We're now 6th and likely to move up further next weekend before we take on Penrith, such an important win that was.

Ps, how did the Bulldogs get away with so much in those last 20!! Never seen so many forward passes let go, no idea why play was stopped when Brown lost the ball, Leilua was over and I'd say the guy behind the siren was definitely a Dogs fan haha what an idiot.

Yeah Scott is miles better than Houston so won't be upset seeing Houston on the bench. Can't believe though that in 2009 Houston was 18th man for NSW in game 3. His form has dropped alot since then which is a shame considering he was one of my favourite players in 09 just behind Gidley.

Bedsy also deserved that try after knocking on that sitter! Agreed with James, we did a complete 180 when he came back on, he's going to keep being such a vital player over the next 2 months, such a privilege to watch him play so well in the count down to his retirement.

How good was Houston too, not just for scoring his 2 tries but he was so good in both defence and attack which I thought I'd never be able to say again. Good on him.

Mason loves playing the doggies. That was close to his best game for us, and I'm pretty sure he aimed up against them before too.
I can't get the stats page to work, but he was over 100 metres run in the first half.

The more I see House running with purpose the last few weeks and making good metres, the more I think he should make the permanent switch to prop. He looked good there against the Storm and Titans. He's also better defending in the middle too where he can use his shoulder instead of getting beat with footwork out wide and grabbing all the time.

Gower will get better.
He hasn't played hooker for years and doesn't really know the team plays yet.

Great way to head into the bye for once. For and against looking good, inside the eight ... now a nice week off while we think about how to beat Penrith. Then a really big game against Easts.

Plenty of players due back over that stretch too ...

Turning point for me was when we were down by 4 in the second half, and Gagai dropped the ball coming out of our own end. Players dropped their heads a little, but you could see/hear Mullen on the coverage screaming at them all, going mental. Great captaining from Mullo.

anyone else concerned about boyd? he did NOTHING, he didn't wrap around once and our attack was so one out... why does that happen after a win? we had no bodies in motion in attack... we looked flat... dominated field position for a while but couldnt post points... take the two and the bye get some players back and hopefully push on into the top 4/5 :)

Just finished watching the game on 9 and what a game from the boys, my hand's are still shaking from sitting on the edge of my seat towards the end after Darius dropped it. Great defence from the boys to grind out the win now to enjoy life back in 8, the bye and return with Scott, Fa'alogo, Gidley & Cuthbo all due back if i recall 8)
