2013 NRL Player Rumours & Signings

Luke Lewis leaving the Panthers for Souths would be like Gidley leaving the Knights for Souths. It'd just be wrong & the fans would go insane. Can't see it happening. Surely Jennings is gone though, unless they play him back in FG & he gets some good form going.

I'm pretty sure that almost happened around 06/07 IIRC.
 
Taylor freed money for Teo with change asotasi will pay for Lima e have told Corrigan and Talanoa to find another place to go. Geddes Crocker will retire (I think) that leaves us with enough and the TV rights deal is supposed to inject about another $750k or there abouts into our cap. I have gone through a number of things why L.Lewis would come and everything I put together matches up that doesn't mean its happening though only time will tell. But if we get Jennings I'm 90% Lewis WILL follow
 
As a Newcastle supporter, i dont watch and follow much of the lower grades...
But it doesn't take a genius to figure out that if Bellamy wants him, he wants him for good reason...
Hence we should keep him!

Last I looked we can't control players free will if they want to go elsewhere - and we did make an offer. Add to that, he's not a local.
 
I'd say signing teenagers and bringing them up through junior systems i would class as 'locals'. Even if not technically in the area. Its just sad to see players wanting to leave the Knights to go play with stars. The knights on paper are full of them.
 
Kurt Mann was the only non local in the SG Ball side last season and he broke his jaw mid season so he only played about 6 games, and nearly lost us the final in his first game back.
He has only had about 20 games in Knights colours, and for some reason didn't take part in the pre season this year.
Admittedly he played the house down in the early rounds of Ball last year and he has run over 200 metres in several games of NYC this year to show he has some skills, but Pat Mata'utia is much taller, about 15kg heavier, stronger, possibly faster, but doesn't have the same positional sense in either attack or defense yet.
Slater and Boyd show small fullbacks go OK, but i'd rather have a big one.
 
Rumours are getting stronger that Finch is coming to the Rabbitohs but is looking more likely a 2 year deal not 1 year also the last Burgess brother Tom Burgess should said with us for next year too but will probably play with the Bears for a year or two like George Burgess
