Washinton got good value just by trading down 6 spots in the first round. Effectively picked up 4 extra picks from that. Still need youth on the O-line though. Only drafted 1 late, but took 3 WRs and 2 RBs in the first 5 rounds.
 
With the NFL Vs. players union going through the 8th Circuit court and looks like it will be a win for the owners & the NFL .... then an appeal followed by appeal then more talks with a federal mediator in the room between court dates.... It will only have two results play by 2010 rules or court make the rules .... The only sticking point is the NFL wont open the books... This lock out is the players fault imo, the owners have try to make football happen in 2011!!!

The district court in Minnesota with judge Nelson was all for the players but two of the three judges in the 8th circuit in St Louis are for the NFL & the owners so the players union has a up hill battle to win this!!!

The CBA talks most likely will delay the start of the season with OTA's & mini camps still has to happend, plus the NFL has made little adustments to the schedule if this goes into the new season plus the NFL about to release an 8 game schedule very soon...
 
Big NFL fan and have been to the last four games at Wembley Stadium but giving it a miss this year cos the week after i going to Wembley to see Australia thump England in the 4 Nations :cry:

Oh yes, the Kiwis playing Wales as well in a double header....

Back to the NFL though, i follow the Giants but my boys follow the Saints!

Hall of fame game between Rams/Bears @ Canton is canceled

The NFL's 130-day labor dispute is set to end after an agreement on the remaining points was reached for a 10-year deal.
Sources say the NFL Players Association's executive committee plans to vote on a collective bargaining agreement Monday, followed by votes from player representatives and eventually players league-wide.

The timeline, according to an ESPN.com source:

• Monday: NFLPA's executive committee votes whether to recommend approval of the CBA approved by owners on Thursday. Then, a player rep from each of the 32 teams votes whether to recommend approval of the CBA.

• Wednesday: Players from some teams report to facilities and vote whether to recertify the NFLPA as a union and accept the proposed CBA.

If the NFLPA has gotten the necessary votes, teams can also start contract talks with their own players, including free agents and draft choices.

• Friday: The remaining players report and vote whether to approve recertification and the CBA. If the NFLPA then receives the necessary 50-percent-plus-one-vote majority in approval, then it recertifies as a union.

• Saturday: Free agency starts and teams can officially sign players.

The Lockout is finally over. This is going to be one hectic period right now in the NFL. First things first it looks like it goodbye Mr Kolb at 10am American time tomorrow haha. I would love for the DRC for Kolb rumors to be true. It would let us focus our money on a big name DE most likely Ray Edwards from what im reading. LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!

Just a small note to that no player can officially sign until Friday at 6 p.m. ET US. Teams will not have a window to negotiate exclusively with their own free agents.

Nnamdi Asomugha (CB) from Raiders to 49ers
Kevin Kolb (QB) from Eagles to Cardinals
Vince Young (QB) from Titans to Dolphins
Carlson Palmer (QB) from Bengals to one year off
Sidney Rice (WR) from Vikings to Rams
DeAngelo Williams (RB) from Panthers to Dolphins
Reggie Bush (RB) from Saints to Dolphins
Braylon Edwards (WR) from Jets to Redskins
Brett Favre (QB) from Vikings to Eagles
Santonio Holmes (WR) from Jets to Redskins
Matt Hasselback (QB) from Seahawks to Titans
Ricky Williams (RB) from Dolphins to (may be) Panthers... But IMO he most likely retire!!

Cant see skins getting Holmes AND Edwards. Cant see Jets giving up both.

They may re-sign Moss (although not sure of that situation as I havent followed the offseason too closely for obvious reasons). And also drafted Hankerson. They also have no QB to throw to them :lol:
 
Teams like the Redskins, Seahawks, Bills, 49ers & may be the Dolphins could throw a 3-13 season (or worst) to get that covered number 1 draft pick for a great class of QB...

Matt Barkley, AndrewLuck, Landry Jones & Kellen Moore (sorry just had to throw a Boise St player in lol)...

I wanted the Poz so bad and it looks like we will miss out on Tulloch too. Babin returning to the Eagles after a pro bowl year hopefully He can repeat being in the same Scheme with just as much talent. The big trade finallly got done and now the Eagles dont need to worry about cornerback which is awesome with another Pro bowl caliber coming to the Eagles in DRC. Not to mention a 2nd rounder. Im looking to the eagles to grab a Vet RB LB and RT. Pretty excited times.

@matho: How to you feel about Orton. One of my friends is really high on him saying that look what he did compared to Brees and Rivers and hes not in a such a pass heavy offense. But on the otherside if he was truly that good why to teams with him keep losing?

Got a feeling Tulloch will suit up for the Lions next but the Eagles are closer to a super bowl then the Lions... So a 6 season vet most likely be chasing that championship ring then helping the Lions build towards that (what is a few years away)... IMO

Ahmad Bradshaw or Ronnie Brown would fit in well with the Eagles as a second option in at RB & someone like Bobby Carpenter would also be a solid fit in LB... In the end it will come down to cap space under this new CBA...

My feelings about Orton is, that he is a good solid player what can lead a team to a respectful 8-8, 7-9 or 6-10.... But in no way a playoff leading guy like Brees, Rivers, Ryan or Rogders... But I take nothing at all out of last seasons record at Denver, when the QB is getting no protection from his O-line & gives away 34 sacks @ 243 yards given away in the process... I can say he was not getting any help from his O-line at all & the Broncos "D" was shocking to say the least...
I hate to think Orton's will be handing the ball back to Reggie Bush, Lousaka Polite & Daniel Thomas on first & second downs... With Thomas (a former QB) being used in long yardage downs, third & fourth downs in the re-birth of the post Ronnie Brown wildcat... The Dolphins will run it 90% of the time, but Orton's best season to date was with Brandon Marshall two years ago at Denver... With 10 TD passes to the then #15...
Dolphins owner Stephen Ross has really put coach Sparano & general manager Ireland on notice (In other words throw them under a bus)... A playoff spot or it's there last season in South Beach!!! So they are really putting there futures on the line with Ortons in that way, it's going cost us a second or third round pick, with a sixth & seventh pick in the 2012 draft.... Orton's job is simple stay for one or two seasons give Chad (pick six) Henne a real run for his money in the starters job, Orton throws more TD's then picks & on the other hand Henne throws way more picks then TD's, the only reason the Fhins are in the market for a stop gap QB... until there next franchise QB can be ready to start!!! .... IMO Orton isn't worth it at all...
Jeff Ireland didn't want Vince Young or McNabb for the two reasons, one they both will hurt the locker room & drag players/team down.... second they would have to take on the final year of McNabb's Redskins contract of something worth around $10 million & then bonus...
I fully agree about not drafting a QB in this years draft because it was a crap QB class with a lot of them will IMO follow the foot steps of DeMarcus Russell (not worth $25 million)...
I dont want to think the Dolphins are tanking this season just to get Matt Barkley, Andrew Luck or Landry Jones because 0-16 or 1-15 may be the record they will need to beat teams like the Bills, Panthers or Vikings for the top 3 draft picks....

ATM IMO the Jets will win the AFC East, Pittsburgh AFC North, Colts AFC South, San Diego AFC West, with the Pats & Texans the wildcard holders...
Eagles will win the NFC East, Green Bay NFC North, Atlanta NFC South, St Louis NFC West, with Tampa & Saints the wildcard holders....
What have all those 12 teams have?? The same coaching staff & QB from last season... After 115 days of being locked out the less changes the better teams will be... Remember no ATO's or Rookie camps & mini camps, straight into a small training camp then 15 days later pre season games before the 9/11 season start!!!

I cannot believe that we landed Nmandi especially after we nabbed DRC in the Kolb trade which i though was spectacular. And from what Ive been reading we have about 9-10 million left in cap space. Makes me wonder if Asante may be on the block. I certainly hope not but if the right deal came along im sure Reid and Howie wouldnt hesitate to pull the trigger.

Rumour has it they maybe working on another trade with the Cardinals involving Samuel.

Either way surely they'll dump him and his contract.
