I think the improvement in Gamble throughout last season was mostly due to the coach giving him that opportunity to play consecutive games and Gamble grabbing that with both hands and playing his heart out. He seems to love Newcastle and most of Newcastle have grown to love him. Am expecting him to go to new heights if handed the 6 again this season.

I think Lucus gets that starting spot. Don’t know which side. Be interesting to see trials / round one. Will KPP be fully fit and ready? Jed Cartwright for the first few weeks I think. Between Tuala and Jenkins for that wing spot.

I think people keep forgetting he’s a 22 year old english international player… with 60 odd SL games to his name as a backrow mostly, Lucas is 23 years old with 7 NRL games to his name and came into a team that was flying for his good games. Got potential but if both fit KPP is the starter imo, and can people stop thinking he’s a winger
I’ve seen on NRL Physio’s twitter that KPP has recovered faster than expected and they do think he’ll be involved in the trials.

Tuala is a pretty good finisher, but does not have the impact coming out of yardage IMO. Don’t know if Jenkins will be better. Neither of them the same yardage impact as Dom.

Tuala always been very decent for us on the wing I have to say.
He was a nightmare in the centres which poisons people's memories I think but he even did OK there last year in the four or five games he filled in.
