I heard a few weeks ago that Rip Taylor was talking with Trent Robinson about working with him - didn't think that meant taking the whole club with him.
Can't remember the exact years, but when our reserves were Central Coast Centurians playing out of Wyong, I think Trent handed the side over to Rip, so they'd both know the benefits of Wyong running a side for an NRL club.

As said on the Marathon Stadium Twitter, the Lurker reports that Zane Tetevano is joining Wyong for the rest of the year. He must pretty p*ssed right now, the prospect of playing the rest of 2014 stuck in NSW Cup rather than playing in first-grade for us right now.

Wyong have had some good wins and are just outside the 8.
Apparently the French comp is finishing up and they expect several new players from there, and Zane will add a lot too.
They could be hard to beat from now on.

I remember an article about Marvin Filipo saying he was gonna come back to the Knights after that comp finished, if he doesn't get a run here he'll definitely get a spot in Wyong atleast.

Wyong's affiliation with the Roosters looks like it may pave the way for a few guys to get their chance, Magnus Stromquist, Leivaha Pulu & former Knight Mitch Williams have all been invited to do pre-season training with the Roosters.

    ROOSTERS TRIAL THREE ROOS

IN what may prove a boon for Central Coast rugby league, three Wyong Roos players have joined the Sydney Roosters NRL squad for pre-season training.

Prop Magnus Stromquist, hooker Mitch Williams and back-rower Leivaha Pulu have all been rewarded for their strong showings during the 2014 NSW Cup season with a six week training run with the Roosters.

Wyong football manager, Matt Lavin says the call-up is a just reward for three players who made a mighty contribution to the Roos’ unlikely semi-finals appearance in 2014.

“We’ve now got a primary affiliation with the Roosters and they went through all of our players from this year and identified some players to do the summer training with them. Obviously that’s Mitch, Magnus and Leivaha,” Lavin says.

“They’ll train five days a week up until January.”

The trio has a total of zero NRL games between them, but Lavin is confident that they all have the potential to play first grade.

“At the end of the day all they need is an opportunity and I’m sure if they get an opportunity they’ll take it with both hands,” he says.

“You wouldn’t get two harder working players than Mitch and Magnus, their work ethic and professionalism is second to none.

Leivaha a big boy who runs a really good line.

“He was with us last year and was probably carrying 10 to 15 kilos.

“He went over to France at the end of 2013, played in the French comp and came back 10 kilos lighter which really helped his footy. He had a great season this year.”

While nothing appears concrete yet, all three players could potentially prove valuable additions to a Roosters squad whose depth is likely to be tested in coming years, with nine first graders coming off contract in 2015.

Williams could prove particularly useful, with the tri-colours lacking a specialist back-up hooker following Heath L’estrange’s move to St George Illawarra.

Earlier this year former Test prop Mark O’Meley told RLW he was surprised that Stromquist, a former Manly NYC player, had not been picked up by an NRL club.

“He reminds me a little of Aidan Tolman from the Dogs,” O’Meley said back in September.

“He has a big motor, plays big minutes and he can really take some punishment.”

I remember Stromquist in Manly's under 20s and really thought that he would be a great player (International stage etc) glad he's getting another chance
