What I hear is that he' s too old- dont understand that when there are numerous 30+ year olds signed up. Go figure!

According to NBN they have signed Orford as an assistant coach and ex Knights Steve Gordon and Shaun Boss to add to Mitch Williams and Jay Florimo.
They will also have open trials this saturday at Morrie Breen.

Wyong and Wests are apparently arguing over who will have Steve Gordon next year.

Apparently as many as 60 players will be trialling with Wyong today. I'd go down and have a look if i wasn't working.

Wyong have said they are not chasing players from the real NRL but players are free to trial if they choose too.

My opinion is that real NRL sides would be on a beating to nothing if they tried to hold players back from signing for a NSW cup side. This is a pathway to the NRL and probably a last chance for many guys, and stopping guys having that chance would just foster massive ill will.

The Brown brothers, Riley, Joel and Gene, have all signed for Cessnock - pity, Riley would have been a good senior player, and Joel and Gene have both probably now kissed goodbye to any chance of making the NRL, and it isn't that long ago that Joel was keeping Stig and Roberts out of junior sides and Gene was one of our most promising under 16s.

You would think there will be a lot of late signings as players get released from NRL squads during the trials.

From what I hear, Wyong would like to be Independent, which I don't think is a bad thing to want to try and stand on your own two feet, then again, I can see the benefit for Wyong in having Newcastle as a feeder club given that it allows the 2nd tier NRL players to even up the playing field (like happened with the CCC last year with Con Mika etc). I can also see the benefit for the Knights in having two feeder clubs to benefit more players for future seasons.

Two wins in their last four games is pretty impressive.

Knights are reportedly in talks with Wyong about making them feeder club.

I think it's a good idea if it eventuates.

Effectively we could have two teams to play for/choose from.

But them playing each other wouldn't be too fun.
