Who does everybody think will replace Rabbits when he retires from commentary for channel 9?

I would imagine Vossy, but It would be awesome if Gary Harley off 102.9 KOFM some how got to do it, he is hilarious.

I would hate it if Ray Hadley got it, he dribbles on with so much crap it isn't funny.

if i get it my way ray will continue calling forever i cant imagine him not calling, i love watching old games just to hear him fatty and sterlo doing the calling

I reckon Hadley should be a commentator if he moves to 7 or 10 because i reckon he is better to listen to and speaks more sense then anyone at 9.

Can't see him doing it, he has signed for Sky News to do a weekly current affairs show, plus he is easing back on his sports radio commitments to concentrate on his Monday-Friday show.

He's signed a lifetime $20mil contract, and he has had the odd health concern...given his workload, can't see him moving to TV anytime soon.

If Nine hold onto league, Vossy would seem to be Rabby's heir.

He already has...Foxtel signed him up to do the commentary for the swimming at the Commonwealth games.

So is Rabs actually leaving or is this just an if he leaves thread?

I wouldn't mind seeing Andy Raymond get it. I read somewhere that he was favourite to get the top job if ch 7 were to get TV rights...He is my favourite commentator on Foxtel.

That would be a once every few years (like the Olympics) - I meant week-to-week.

Imagine his workload if he took up a TV commentary job on a regular basis - 3 hours Monday to Friday (plus whatever time spent preparing for it), plus 5 hours on Saturday (I think Andrew Moore would do Sundays and most of the calls), plus an hour on Sky News, plus time spent preparing for that, plus let's say 2-3 hours calling one game over the weekend. You would be nuts taking up such a work load!

I hate him. I think he is a terrible commentator. Warren Smith is the best on Foxtel.

If Seven does get it, I reckon they could share a few of the Fox Sports commentators, as Seven owns 50% of Fox Sports - could happen...

sounds like a normal 40 hour week

I just started this thread because Rabbits has been in hospital of late, and if he was to leave I just wanted some opinions on which commentator would get the top job.

Freddy for lols

Stick him and Joey in the box together haha!

Them too together sound like drunken sailors on the sunday footy show already, imagine the two of them sharing the top job together in the box.

Sounds like less than a 40 hour week!!! Man some people have it easy.

Ray Warren is going to retire after the 2012 Olympics.

I'd say it will be Voss for sure ... there wouldn't be much doubt would there? He's done his apprenticeship since 1995!

Terry Kennedy may be worming his way in as a back-up commentator like Voss is atm.

He might think that it is over the top and might want to focus on things like his family. He has been in hospital with little health scares and if you recall, his mate Peter Frillingos died on the job of a heart attack, and he was a workaholic. Some may revel in 40 hour weeks, some may not.

I don't know him, but I don't reckon he will move into week-to-week league commentating on TV. He'd be more worried about proving himself as a current affairs commentator.

I doubt Nine would bother with any of those rubbish Fox commentators ... especially Warren Smith and Andy Raymond.

I just noticed the poll ... Peter Sterling and Paul Vautin?

Yeah, I couldn't think of anyone else haha.

How many prominant ex. players have been main commentators? cant think of too many (dont watch much fox though) but mainly all the colour commentary guys seem to be the past players.
