*Ese Ese's future is clouded after the Titans offer him over $500k+ per season for 2021 & 2022. Knights will not be matching that. Knights have said no to him leaving for this year.
*If Ese leaves Jacob will become a bigger signing priority.
*Sione the front runner for the right edge spot Barnett for lock. Ese Ese and Watson locked in for bench spots. So Guerra, J.Saf and Glasby competing for last 2 bench spots.
*Shibasaki and Tuala are the front runners for the round one centre pairing.
*Tex Hoy looking like he may get a top 30 spot.
*Toni Mataeli has agreed to terms for 21,22 & 2023.
Dylan Phythian is on a train and trial deal with Manly.

As much as it would pain me to lose Ese Ese, if the team signs Frizzell and uses some of the money they would have spent keeping Ese Ese to keep Jacob Saifiti then I would be able to live with that.

In a perfect world the team would have a strong season and Ese Ese would stay for less as opposed to going to the basket case Titans, while some of the other players contracts like Glasby would trickle out and be offset by Ese Ese staying then.
But off course other teams might come circling so who knows.

So if Hoy gets a top 30 spot by the March 1st cut off, which doesn't make him a developmental player anymore I take it that would mean he would be eligible to play the Origin games before June 30 that we lose Ponga for?

For me ESE ESE is yer to prove he’s worth that money for us. Potential is there but has been a huge liability in defence to date

I don’t blame them for not matching 500k at the moment but him playing for a contract for us for 2020 considering the club isn’t letting him go isn’t too bad of a deal at the moment

Don’t recall Ese Ese constantly clashing with coaches, demanding releases and the such

*Most of it is piece on a guy who had a surfing accident and broke his neck, he was saved by a group of blokes and one of them was Chief.
The guy Chris Poulos is a quadriplegic but is grateful for the help and to be alive.
*Hoy likely to get the 29th top 30 spot tomorrow.
*Dan had to change the colour of his boots so that Obi could tell them apart.
*Bedsy was very close to moving to Sydney before the job opportunity.

A separate article by Toohey today says Herman will start at lock and could earn a starting spot for round one with an excellent game, but also says Barnett did enough at lock in game 1 to earn his spot and he is moving Barnett to second row today so he can give Herman, Jake Saifiti and Watson more time in the middle forwards today to see how they go.

I'm wondering where that leaves Guerra. He seems to be a fair way down the pecking order. Alternatively, he will be starting on an edge come r1, and Obi doesn't need to see a lot from him.

Maybe leave Barnett at lock and see how Herman goes in the back row. That would be awesome to witness us beast opposition with Barnett, Fitz and Ese Ese. No matter in what order they line up. Looking forward to us pummeling the Roosters children this evening.

Who were the top half dozen or so?

    I would have gone:
    1) A Johns
    2) Bedsy
    3) Chief
    4) Matt Gids
    5) Robbie O

BK, Butts and Sarge up there for mine as well and I really hope my all time fave Marc Glanville made the top 10, he was unfortunate not to have the rep career of some of the others. Unfortunately he had a great in Brad Clyde in front of him, another guy who doesn't get the recognition he deserves.

Ben Kennedy would be up there, but perhaps the small sample size 6-10 is about right.

Steve Simpson is another one who many team mates would vouch for to be up there, but not sure whether he would be top 10 because of that.
