A shame for lamb the next Cameron Smith left the pickers. What a combo that could have been.

Tyler has gone there though. Would be a very good combo. Lamb is one that could have been

He's right though, in general. It's January and we've definately seen improvement in off field behaviour. That we know about anyway.

Most of the players have partners or wives which seems to keep them on the straight and narrow.

Especially if the wife and partner don’t find out about each other.

Apart from the obvious wanting to be closer to home and I'm not a conspiracy theorist but I wonder how much the Lamb move is also based on his experience with Obi at the Roosters and whether he sees a glimmer of an opportunity should the Knights have some depth issues in the halves, which is possible given the capacity for injuries and our current roster in the halves?

Call ups from the real NRL aren't unheard of

Toohey's predicted team for round one,
1 Kalyn Ponga, 2 Edrick Lee, 3 Bradman Best, 4 Gehamat Shibasaki, 5 Hymel Hunt, 6 Kurt Mann, 7 Mitchell Pearce, 8 David Klemmer, 9 Jayden Brailey, 10 Daniel Saifiti, 11 Lachlan Fitzgibbon, 12 Aidan Guerra, 13 Mitch Barnett. Bench: Connor Watson, Tim Glasby, Herman Ese'ese, Sione Mata'utia

Levi looks certain to go to Manly. It will free up $260k in the cap because by the time he leave he would have already been payed $90k. His money will more than likley be used to front load contracts to free up money for upgrades for next year.

Lamb has been released by Parra and looks like he is going to Maitland.

I'd be happy with that team.
I really like Guerra on an edge and Barnett back to lock.

Not a bad team. Wouldn't mind seeing ese start and tuala in for Kawasaki. Crossland or lino in for Mann.

If that is the team for Round 1, or whatever the team is, I hope it is still the team come Round 8

It would mean Mann lining up between Guerra and a strong defensive centre in Shibrasaki. That could work.

    "Kawasaki" lol! I'd go:

    1. Ponga
    2. Lee
    3. Best
    4. Hunt
    5. Tuala
    6. Mann
    7. Pearce
    8. Klem
    9. Brailey
    10. DSaf
    11. Barnett
    12. Guerra
    13. Herman
    14. Watson
    15. Fitz
    16. Glasby
    17. Sione/JSaf

I'd have Fitz, Best and Lee on our left side.
With Ponga taking the ball to the line and looking to either run or pass to his pick of Fitz, Best or Lee, the opposition would have to have quality defenders on all those guys. It would be very hard to handle all of them.

Shibasaki isn’t a strong defender. I’d be worried if it’s him and Mann lined up alongside each other.

Im sure I read that they signed Shibasaki because they think he is a strong defender and Obi is all about defence .

Might want to go watch his broncos performances and his junior years then. He really hasn’t been that good and making wrong decisions in defence as well.

Bradman Best has unlimited potential, but reality check, he will be 18 years old till near the end of season 2020 and at this point he has played 6 games of senior football, 3 in reserve grade and 3 in firstgrade, and he went off injured in 2 of his 3 in reserve grade.
I'm not a huge fan of Moga, but with 69 firstgrade games, 23 tries, and it being almost 2 years since he was last injured, it's really hard to see how we can pick a rookie kid like Best over him.
I've never seen Shibasaki play, but with 13 games, no tries, and only an 82% tackle efficiency rate (about the same as Moga), it's hard to see how he is picked over Moga too.

Plus Moga is looking fitter than I have seen in years
