The Mata'utias

I've seen all four brothers play in four different grades this weekend.

In Mathews - Sione had a very quiet game, but he looked all class in his few touches. His side of the field was very heavily targeted because both he and Tevita Pangai were on top of the Mathews try scoring lists with 10 tries each.

In Ball - Pat was outstanding. He played the first half at fullback and the team went in behind on the scoreboard at halftime. In the second half he was shifted to the forwards, and he took it on himself to make as many runs as he could and use his power to get the team going forward. He was a large part of the second half turnaround.

In NYC - the whole team went bad, and Chanel made a few bad reads in defence that looked bad, but in attack he showed some footwork i didn't know he had and made some quality runs. He was outpaced by Will Smith when Smith made a break and Chanel couldn't stick with him, but Smith scored himself and he is pretty quick.

In NYC - it was a quality game in which our whole side played at near firstgrade standard, and Pete was one of our best at fullback. He must be very close to being a better player than McDonnell.

My pick of the Mata'utia's this week - Pat - but he has always been my favourite.

Yeah you might not be too far off seeing Pete in NRL grade too. I have a feeling (even though he is a much better fullback & centre) that he might be the 4th or 5th string winger judging by the trials.
