We need to devise an attacking plan based on the spine players we have. I have no confidence and should not change the way DB plays. I just can’t see Sharpe and DB working well together. From what I’ve seen of Smith it makes way more sense to have him partnering with DB and being the more organiser.

I’ll be surprised Sharpe is the 6 or 7 next year.
We would also be a far better defensive side with Crossland starting the game at 9. Smith starting at 9 for his defence does not sound great to me either.

You want Sharpe in centre, move gags to the wing. He played origin for a long time on the wing!

They were really trying to play KP this year as the 1?

How on earth does any first grade coach look at KP and think, you know who he reminds me of, Cooper Cronk.

So based on the what Dylan Brown said they actually presented this idea to him and he still agreed to come here?

I have trouble seeing our spine as anything but 1 Ponga, 6 Brown, 7 S Smith, 9 Crossland and 13 could be any of a few players such as Frizell, Croker and Mooney.
Am a bit of a believer in not weakening a position for the sake of change, those named, 1, 6, 7 & 9 are currently our best in those positions if you move them you weaken positions without strengthening any.
Sharpe will be our next f/b when and if Ponga moves on but for 26 he will likely play outside the spine, most likely centre or wing, he is not in my opinion rated over other named in spine, he might end up as good or better but not now, his best position is f/b but that Ponga bloke is very good when fit and ready.
All of this may change due to injuries or new signings, not sure Sharpe will be ready for Rd 1 fitness or confidence.

If Sandon Smith was not in the building. Sure try the Brown, Sharpe combo. But now/will sigh Smith it seems pretty evident we should be playing if as our 7.
if that's the case you would have to think that the lineup will be something like
ponga
young/marzew
best
gags
sharpe
brown
smith
j saf
crossland
mooney
lucas
mcewen
croker

Arthur/graham
friz
saulo
ESL or any other forward

I personally think that the smith coming as a 9 was a recruitment team decision not just aob's, they've been thinking about getting rid of aob for a while so I doubt his opinion would of had a whole heap of pull... but just to please everyone who thinks smith won't play 9 there's the rough lineup...

I’d be tempted to play Sharpe in the centres and gags on the wing. He can fight it out with Marhzew
