The best juniors by position?

Billy

Danny 'Bedsy' Buderus
I have a go at naming the best junior team by position at this time every year.

1 Maipele Morseau - NYC - we haven't seen much of him because of injury and suspension - but he is a class above.
2 Pat Mata'utia - Ball - named him out of position because we are weak on the wing and he deserves a spot.
3 Sione Mata'utia - Mathews - highest tryscoring back in the entire Matts comp - class player.
4 Will Smith - NYC - Our most dangerous attacking player and one of our best defenders. Really reminds me of a young Brad Tighe.
5 Kurt Mann - Ball and NYC - name the fullback and halfback on the wing just to get him into the side.
6 Tom Rouse - Ball - guy who stood up in the big games and was largely responsible for our title win.
7 Tyrone Roberts - NYC and firstgrade - speaks for himself
8 Michael Steele - Ball - the hardest working forward in Ball - unsung hero of the season
9 Chad Redman - NYC - just ahead of Knight and Clydesdale, mostly on reputation
10 Rod Mason - NYC - shown enough in his few games back from injury to show he has a firstgrade future
11 Tevita Pangai - Mathews - standout player in the Mathews comp IMO. Bloody criminal he didn't get a NSW spot.
12 Carl Means - NYC - unheralded player, but he works his butt off.
13 Ethan Cooke - NYC - our best junior for years

14 Clydesdale - Ball - hooker who plays full games and works all game
15 Rob Mason - Ball - prop forward who charges in - big guy too.
16 Ben Roose - Ball - lock forward who could play prop if he wanted to
17 Nick Ritter - Ball - centre who looks real quality

Based purely on NYC & below (no NSW Cup) i'd have:

1. Maipele Morseau
2. Chanel Mata'utia
3. Mitch Williams
4. Will Smith
5. Pat Mata'utia
6. Tyler Sullivan
7. Tyrone Roberts (gk)
8. Josh Ailaomai
9. Chad Redman
10. Korbin Sims
11. Rodney Mason
12. Tevita Pangai
13. Ethan Cook (c)

14. Kurt Mann
15. Carl Means
16. Jeremy Ma'a
17. Jason Savin

16. Jeremy Ma'a
17. Jason Savin
Those two guys have as much potential as anyone at the club, but i had to go with the guys who delivered on the park this year.
In a lot of ways it says our depth at Ball level is fantastic when our two most devastating forwards played about 3 games each and we still won 11 out of 12 games and only lost the other one by two points (12 out of 13 if you count the national final).

One guy who deserves a mention is Jake Lawrence.
He was the standout in Mathews last year and represented NSW under 16s.
He is also on a 4 year contract at the Knights after the Knights picked him up as an Aus under 14s (I think) rep.

He didn't stand out in Ball this year, but he would have been one of the youngest in the side and he did big minutes of quality work in every game.

He should be the leader of the pack in Ball next year, and will probably move up to NYC after the Ball season.
