Struggling KNIGHTS

I am pretty sick of hearing Wayne Bennett saying how pleased he was with another loss.
Yes it was a good effort against the storm, But in reality the storm were missing Cooper Cronk, and missing Cronk for the storm would have been like missing Joey for us back in the day.

Cronk steers the whole team around and has an outstanding kicking game.
Imagine if Cronk was playing today we would have lost by 30 I reckon.
Brett Finch played terribly and kicked terribly, even Jason Ryles had a few kicks!! what the hell, and we still couldnt win.

Wayne Bennett needs to give his players a pat on the back for effort of course, but also needs to send out the message how winning the game is the only thing that matters at the end of the day.
The effort didnt earn us the 2 points did it!
We lack execution and are happy just defending petty leads when we should be playing football and attacking.

4 points in front isnt gonna win a game, and the knights players just didnt seem hungry enough when given try scoring chances.

Their are a few players playing out of their skin ATM, Mullen,Roberts and McManus to name a few, have been absolutley outstanding.

But look at what the bulldogs did on Fri night, they went to Brookvale and beat Manly.
thats one of the toughest grounds to play at, and even when Manly charged home at the end the Dogs still held on and won the game, thats a good football team who has a winning spirit, the Knights are nowhere near that ATM and are nowhere near the top teams.

I trust in Bennett that he has a master plan but its not appearing to work ATM.........

I don't think our season is gone yet. I think the Knights will have a week off just like last year and after the bye we'll have Danny back and possibly Gidley if he makes a miraculous recovery. We also need to have Toka LikiLiki to debut since Sims has been quiet in the past couple of matches. Also If the Knights don't make the 8 again this year, Bennett won't see out his last two years.

I don't think there's any chance of Bennett being sacked.

Yesterday was a real positive for us, I'm surprised to see a thread like this started up after that game. It was one of our best performances of the season.

We get the bye next week and we will be two points out of the eight more than likely.

There is a long way to go until round 26.

I really thought we would win yesterday. I despise losing but can't be disappointed with the team's effort. As much as I criticize Bennett there's no chance of him being sacked. It would take someone with a set the size of rockmellons to sack the most decorated coach in NRL history.

You lost me at Roberts has been outstanding

Roberts has definitely had moments of brilliance but they are usually after a series of average ones. His kicking game is non existent and his defence, while improving is well below par. I thought Bennett may have employed a similar tact to that of Lockyer where they had an enforcer outside to help him out. When I saw Houston outside Roberts as a possible enforcer I gave that theory up instantly.

Not once have I heard Bennett say he was happy with losing ....Happy with the effort even though we lost is what he has said ..... I am with him here too the effort they played with yesterday was very good and It took the storm to play an almost perfect half of footy to beat us, by 2 points in Melbourne . They had 1 of they're big 4 out in Cronk BUT we had 2 of our spine out in Gids and Bedsy . We played well enough yesterday to beat most teams in the comp .

Not disagreeing Ethan but how much longer is "Gidley not being there" going to be used as an excuse/reason as a contributing factor towards a loss ? I mean the bloke's hardly ever there. If the team ain't used to playing without him there's something wrong.

While I'm happy with effort I don't care how well we played a loss is a loss, whether we are playing well enough to beat most teams in comp means nothing cause we're not, and the fact we absolutely got our selves up for that game and still lost is a kick in the guts, I don't think we can rate our getting close to storm to much cause at end of day they were off their game, we played perfect footy for majority of game with sensational kicking game from Mullen and they still ground out the win. Now that's a good footy side. Hope we get their one day

Did anyone notice a few times in our own half, i know they did try a couple but players were screaming and angry when the ball didnt go wide when they had space in front of them... i noticed it maybe three times in the first half even. Not saying they would of been tries, but mullen would of been in a much better position to mount pressure if those passes had been thrown... Still great effort by the boys, just need to spark something in attack... Aku still looks a little lost, like he is more worried about defence than attack at the moment, not as involved as he usually is

If we play the remainder of our games like we did against Melbourne we will be very hard to beat. Remember we played Melbourne down there and they only beat us by 2 points.

Before people start saying they had no Cronk, remember we had no Gids or Buderus, we put in a massive effort and all should be proud.

Lets hope the boys play to their potential week in week out.

I say give Gower a go at half and play Roberts of the bench to interchange with Bedsy.

I picked it, I knew if we were to play well in Melbourne it would be a tight match, and it was. We were either going to win or lose narrowly or be smashed, I'd be glad we werent smashed.

As we know the team has attacking weapons all over the place. For some reason they are not being utilized. Is it Wayne's game plan to just roll up the field, get to our kick and then stiffen up in defense ? If it is the we aren't going to be contenders. If Wayne's game plan is to throw the ball around and use the attacking brilliance in the side then those players not following his plan should be dropped. If indeed we are going to play the way I mentioned first we as supporters will have to get used to putting in a good effort only to be beaten.

They couldn't have been to far off they're game as they had to produce an almost perfect half of footy to beat us . We had 2 of our 3 best out and they had 1 of they're 4 best out , personally I think we missed Bedsy a lot more than Gids .

I am so sick of people saying we were missing gids, he is out yes but are we missing him?, most of the time when he does play we complain about how bad he plays

In a recent interview he said he doesn't tell his players not to offloads.
If it's on he's happy for them to do so.
