I am pretty sick of hearing Wayne Bennett saying how pleased he was with another loss.
Yes it was a good effort against the storm, But in reality the storm were missing Cooper Cronk, and missing Cronk for the storm would have been like missing Joey for us back in the day.
Cronk steers the whole team around and has an outstanding kicking game.
Imagine if Cronk was playing today we would have lost by 30 I reckon.
Brett Finch played terribly and kicked terribly, even Jason Ryles had a few kicks!! what the hell, and we still couldnt win.
Wayne Bennett needs to give his players a pat on the back for effort of course, but also needs to send out the message how winning the game is the only thing that matters at the end of the day.
The effort didnt earn us the 2 points did it!
We lack execution and are happy just defending petty leads when we should be playing football and attacking.
4 points in front isnt gonna win a game, and the knights players just didnt seem hungry enough when given try scoring chances.
Their are a few players playing out of their skin ATM, Mullen,Roberts and McManus to name a few, have been absolutley outstanding.
But look at what the bulldogs did on Fri night, they went to Brookvale and beat Manly.
thats one of the toughest grounds to play at, and even when Manly charged home at the end the Dogs still held on and won the game, thats a good football team who has a winning spirit, the Knights are nowhere near that ATM and are nowhere near the top teams.
I trust in Bennett that he has a master plan but its not appearing to work ATM.........
