Are Huddersfield going to be the latest club to use the marquee player rule?

Word coming from League Express is that the Giants are keen to sign Newcastle Knights halfback Jarrod Mullen for next season as they revamp their squad.

Mullen, who previously played under Giants head coach Rick Stone at the Knights, has been linked with an exit from Newcastle in the Australian media in the last couple of months as the NRL’s bottom side prepare for a major overhaul of their squad.

And Stone is keen to make the most of Mullen’s availability by making him his marquee signing for his first season at Huddersfield.

Well if he does want to, he better decide fast as it would be helpful for us recruitment wise to know we have that cash available.

Dont want it to happen yet, but 550k freed up to get some better forwards would be great.
Wonder if Stone wants 3 outside backs that are brothers...

Huddersfield are still not certain to be in the top grade next year.
They can't really sign anyone till they are certain to be in the ESL.

If they do make it, a lot will depend on what Mullo thinks of the move to No. 9. Personally think it was a stroke of genius by Brownie as all top No. 9's started their careers in the halves. Mullo's speed and kicking game would be invaluable from dummy half, but the question will be if Mullo thinks the hammies will bear the strain of playing a faster, more involved game.
