I doubt St George Illawarra are getting him for 500k, they are getting him for 500k with the dogs still chipping in some of his wages.

My comment was in response to the above. I should have quoted it for context.

Dragons may be paying 500k, but that isn't his total salary cap worth for the year. Dogs would be chipping in a large amount themselves. Blair doesn't come with any such hand out.

Id doubt the dogs would pay 500k for him to play elsewhere.... his 2018 contract is 1mil due to backending it.

They would be better off keeping him and offloading tolman.
Tolman is on 500k and would get 500k on the market imo.

Why would graham leave to st george illawarra for 500k when he is owed 1 mil from the dogs?

IF he is going to saints for 500k, that isnt his whole salary cap payments for 2018.

Well firstly he hasnt yet signed.
    Secondly,
If he does sign with them the Dogs pay a chunk of his contract to even it to 1mil.

I just cant see it being 500k the dogs pay him to play for another club.

No club would do it in a normal situation, but the Dogs might not have a choice in the end. The closer it gets to next season, the more desperate the Dogs will have to be.

I'd rather performance on the field rather than off it.
As for Tolman I thought he was no longer available if he is go for him, I like the way he plays, no nonsense

Which was my point exactly. Billy was saying Saints are getting Graham for 500k, and we get Blair for 800k or whatever the figure was. My point as you illustrated, is that Saints may be paying 500k for him but his cap value is 1mil when you add the dogs share of his wage, So you can't compare saints paying 500k for him to us paying 850 for Blair.

You could look at it that in the end, saints are still only paying 500k for graham, and we are paying 850k for blair (if any of this is actually true, and not just internet blathering), so we are getting the lesser of the deals. But, the Knight looked at Graham, and have not moved to chase him further. That tells me either Graham indicated he does not want to come to us or leave Sydney!

No of course not mate Graham is taking a $500k pay cut for giggles. Like Ponga is on $1.6 million according to you.

That's the only way to look at it (although reports are we have offered 3 years $1.8m and warriors 4 years $2.8m).

Knights went cold on Graham because of injury concerns.

Where are u getting 850k from?
All reports are we have offered 3yrs at roughly 2mil.
Warriors have offered 4yrs at roughly 2.8mil.
    Broncos have offered nothing.
St george offered around the same as us.

Tell u right now, if the Dragons get Graham for 500k and we didnt throw 700k at him ill be filthy.

His twice the player of Blair.

Id offer Tolman 650k a yr tbh and would be a better option then Graham and Blair.

I think Billy cooked up that figure, I asked him where he heard it and didn't respond. 600k seems right on the money.

Where did I get 800K from? I've already said I was responding to Billy, I quoted him above where he said $800k for Blair.

I don't even want Blair here, would rather Graham or Tolman over him personally. I'd even take Woods before Blair.

Though I am sure Brown and co know full well Graham is better than Blair. So, logically thinking, there would be some reason they haven't continued chasing him any further. Whether that be neck concern, or that Graham has indicated he isn't interested. Whatever the case, which we will never know, we don't seem to be looking at Graham.

Graham said time after time he wasnt interested in leaving dogs, So Brown gave up and turned his attention to Blair. Main reason for Blair is more his off field actions. Everyone says he is one of the best trainers in NRL and knows what has to be done when it comes to Diets and looking after his body etc. So Brown is hoping he can teach the young guys a thing or 2 there!

Obviously thats only part of the reason and probably a big reason why Brown is keen on him!. Throw in the fact he has a ton of experience (Both NRL and REP) as well as being a high profile player. Think he will be a solid signing for us and one we can also use to help bring in other signings easier!
