Knights, Broncos, Rabbits, Storm and Warriors will be fine everyone else major question marks. Don’t expect Wests nor Newscorp or any private owner to help keep other clubs alive p, they will be focused on their own viability. West’s still have their accomodation arm still operating so that will soften the blow for them to some degree, not sure wether their restaurant have gone take away or not.

Gardner did say earlier the club was in better position to handle it then when it was a number of years ago but that may or may not have been taken into account the competition being suspended.

Foxtel/Foxsports are losing hundreds of millions, and now without NRL will probably take another hit. Unless they plan on providing it for free that's kayosports unsubscribed for me. The first thing I saw when I logged on to Kayo was Buzz's ugly mug plastered on for Controversy Corner.

*I laughed as I unsubscribed to Kayo Sports.

NFL/NBA/MLB are making their passes free for the next few months for those who are interested and follow other sports. That should be enough for me unless others follow suit.

I think that defiantly would have been based off the comp being suspended, Gardiner would have factored that into any calculations regarding financial viability. It’s been obvious for weeks we would eventually run out of rope and have to suspend the season.

Yeah he said they will take a hit but have the reserves from a good board not to be in dire straits.

Yep Kayo was gone as soon as they announced it for me, sad to see it happen everyone, but players/coaches/staff welfare is as important as anyone, lets hope all fans and everyone involved is okay with another of the many kicks in the guts.

My prayers will be with you all at this time.

I wonder if Foxtel will reduce their subscriptions because they will not have NRL games to broadcast and will not have to keep paying the ARLC.

Doubt it made, they will lose tens of millions a month with AFL and NRL canning.

With streaming these days do they even have a market for their other content now that Game of Thrones is goneski?

When they stop paying the ARLC, I’ll ring them up and ask for a big discount.

Good, the cost of netflix and others with more content and for a 10th of the price shows how much they have been having a lend of us for years.

My contract just ended with Foxtel and it went from 65 to 88 a month, I was considering giving it the flick anyway. Little chance of keeping it beyond the end of the month now.

I watch all the games on my ipad for virtually nothing.
I only use the ipad when I travel, except for football, so I have telstra pre paid which costs $30 for a recharge, which I do 3 or 4 times a year when I go away. That allows me to keep the NRL app up to date, and i watch all the games on my home (optus) broadband.

I'll be flicking foxtel also. The only thing I watched on it was sports.

The only thing I really ever watched before Kayo on Foxtel that wasn’t sport was The Simpsons here and there but then I found out it was on Disney+ which was a lot cheaper so don’t really have a reason now.

I get other people may be different and watch a variety of things but I imagine adding the streaming services out there would still be cheaper then the ridiculously overpriced Foxtel

Knights have stood down 100 staff, including some coaching staff and part time players amongst others.
