Fermor has had 2 great games in reserve grade and is the form forward after the first 2 rounds - averaging 35 tackles, 130 metres and 58 fantasy points per game - but the only way to use him would be to upgrade his contract and give him our last top 30 spot - or just wait a few months till we can use development players.

We should be able to roll through that forward pack. Hopefully we can get some points on the back of it and build some confidence.

Didn't realize Canberra were that light on this year. On paper, we should roll through them, but on the field who knows. Always been a tight tussle between us & Canberra last couple years.

Yeah it was a Ricky strategy going back from the off-season last year. It's basically been wrestlemania for the most part for two weeks and it showed against the Storm. Good thing we learned how to defend that way in the offseason.

They’ve got some good players but they’re definitely undersized. Our pack has abit of size but is quite mobile so we’ve got them covered on both fronts.

You never know though as you mentioned. I’ve seen us cop some absolute hammerings down there so I’ll never be too confident.

Has been wrestle mania this year at least we have the forwards this year for that sort of footy. The downside being that sort of footy limits the likes of levi and ponga. I have noticed in the two games this year levi has caught the markers out a number of times but cant remember him winning a penalty so far.

Tight contests in the last few years but going back over the last decade they have all pretty much been 13+ to either team

Since 2009 the Raiders and Knights have played each other 18 times and 907 points have been scored in those 18 games at an average of 51 points a game so typically defence is out the window

I was the 2015 game. I remember Austin scored the first 3 tries and that’s the smallest loss on the list.

Toohey reporting in the Herald that Watson is very likely to miss the game with a knee injury, Mann to fullback, Buhrer to bench utility, with Lino another option.

One would hope you’re right. I can only see this being a tight game though.

I'd be putting KP back to fullback and have Lino camp out on the right like Watson did last year. Then Pearce can call all the shots and KP get's more room on the left.

But Mann is a pretty handy all round footballer and played plenty of fullback. I'd actually be more confident in his positioning and ability to clean up kicks than Watson.

Hoy is another that would need an upgrade and be included in the top 30, taking the last spot

More importantly, I think the days of debuting kids well before they are ready are over.
