Levi was playing chit house for weeks, fact.
    Pearce was also.
    Even Ponga wasnt playing well.

I stand by my views of the 3 of them at the time.
I also didnt miss Watson either.

But im more then happy to see whatever happened to change things around happened, otherwise this talk atm would be much nastier on here.

Now Watson DOES deserve praise for doing a good job at hooker, he hasnt played the role for 10+yrs to be a genuine hooker, yet was outstanding in the past 2 games and our middle hasnt lost much at all from his effort.

Watson looks fantastic behind a forward pack making 80 metres in a set.
My feeling is he wouldn't look that good behind a forward pack getting smashed, but let's hope we never have to find out.
He is the perfect hooker for when our forwards have the opposition backpeddling and there are easy metres to make out of dummy half.

Fitz sent off for nothing again.
In reserve grade the refs all decided that the only way to deal with Fitz was to send him to the sin bin, because he'd rather fight than play football when he got fired up, but it would be nice if they got over that now, because Fitz has.

Tom Burgess charged and two others fined over brawl

Tom Burgess has been charged with striking while two others have been fined over the brawl that engulfed players from both the Rabbitohs and Knights in the shadow of half-time on Friday night at ANZ Stadium.

The NRL match review committee has set a grade one striking charge against Burgess, with a base penalty of 200 points. It means he will miss only one match with an early plea, or two games if he appeals.

But the Rabbitohs announced on their website on Saturday morning that Burgess had scans on his ankle which revealed some floating cartilage. The injury will most likely require surgery and he is booked in to see a specialist on Tuesday.

His older brother Sam Burgess underwent surgery on Saturday morning for a clean-up of his shoulder. He will need about five weeks to recover.

Sam has been fined $1,350 for contrary conduct out of the Knights game, if he enters an early plea. If he doesn't the fine rises by $450.

Knights prop Daniel Saifiti was also fined for contrary conduct, but the lesser amount of $1,150 with an early plea.

The fourth player sin-binned - Knights back rower Lachlan Fitzgibbon, escaped any penalty.

They'll just say he's fit to play a week earlier than he actually is...

I think Tom is very lucky it is only grade 1. That was a full on attempted head butt, he pulled Dsaf towards him and lead with the forehead.

Levi gets flak because he's attempted 50 barge over tries and scored none.

Why would we criticise Watson for scoring 1 from 2 attempts?

I don't criticise anyone for playing what they think they see in front of them. Chip over the top, attempted barge over etc etc. genius if it comes off bagged if it doesn't. Watson done exactly what Levi get's hammered for taking a quick tap when Captain wanted to take the kick to go 8 in front.

If he did exactly what Levi does he wouldn't have scored.

If Watson came away with zero points he'd be copping it too

The myth about Levi going from dummy half too many times is just a forum beat up thing.
He doesn't do it any more than most hookers, and it's usually a fair try.
It's like many of the myths on here - someone says it, 10 people repeat it - 10 years later people are still dribbling on about it.

    He isn't a good defender.
I've never said he was rubbish.
I get a lot of hate for pointing out his obvious shortcommings, so I just let you wallow in your ignorance mostly. You can think he's a brilliant 5/8 if you want to I suppose.

He'd need to be missing 10 tackles a game to be labeled a good defender I suspect.
